more importantly, it depends in what part of the world he lives in and what TV standard is used. Norway use PAL and so 720x576 is the correct resolution.

hence my comment

"you should set the resolution to 720x576 for PAL and 720x480 for NTSC"

ks67 was using the TV out on the pvr-350 so he is feeding it into an analogue TV and therefore it is interlaced.

thanks for all your advices!

I finally got the time to test all the suggestions and got it to work, in a way ...

First of all I use 720x576 for PAL as I am in Norway. Actually theres two standars B-PAL and G-PAL. I dont know wich to use. What I get is a picture on my television screen thats slightly off. My Start Button begins with the letters art and my system clock shows the hours, but not the minutes. The GBPVR menu doesnt show completely. This seems like I use a wrong resolution although I use whats recommended.

Secondly I get the best picture quality using Overlay, but with overlay the video is moved to the right of my screen so I only see the left quarter of the video.

So I have progressed a lot, but its a drag not seeing the whole video and all of the menus.

Any recomendations?

dont worry so much about the windows desktop

but if its not fitting the menus then try a lower resolution what ever the next lower one is

dont worry about what is meant to be right do what works
you can always change it back or reset to default if it all goes wrong

try pressing f7 while watching a video you should see the picture changing

another way is to edit the config file
or get it close with the previous post then do this
****BACK UP FIRST *******

right click config >edit (will open in note pad)
scroll down till you see overscan control

here is what i have modified mine to be:the first 4 lines of overscan is what adjusts how big ity will be you will get back the bits you can not see

<!-- overscan control (border size in pixels) -->
<OverScanBorderX1>35</OverScanBorderX1>
<OverScanBorderY1>20</OverScanBorderY1>
<OverScanBorderX2>35</OverScanBorderX2>
<OverScanBorderY2>20 </OverScanBorderY2>
<OverScanVideoAlso>true</OverScanVideoAlso>
<!-- Aspect Ratio settings -->
<TvShape>16x9</TvShape>
<AspectRatioModes>
<AspectRatioMode name="custom" ratio="0.06,0,0.94,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="custom1" ratio="0.04,0,0.96,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="custom2" ratio="0.02,0,0.98,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Fill" ratio="0,0,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Auto" ratio="0,0,0,0" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox" ratio="0,0.125,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox" ratio="0,0.098,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox1" ratio="0,0.07,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox2" ratio="0,0.04,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox3" ratio="0,0.02,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Remove LetterBox" ratio="0,-0.125,1,1.125" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Center Cut" ratio="-0.05,-0.17,1.04,1.17" />
<AspectRatioMode name="PillarBox" ratio="0.04,0,0.96,1" />
</AspectRatioModes>

You know I'm reading my replies on this thread and I feel like I'm reading someone else's posts! I can't explain my out of character behavior other than being under an inordinate amount of stress with finances and caring for sick parents; but this is really no excuse for grossly misinterpreting some friendly back and forth, not to mention misreading the OP's posts.

I'd like to apologize to everyone here, most of all to sub and Ted (who probably has a TERRIBLE first impression of me!) and promise to think twice and THEN post once. I hope everyone will forgive my uncharacteristic outburst - this is really not the way I conduct myself in real life or in these forums, and I'm a bit embarassed about it.

Thanks to both of you for being so cool about it; I appreciate it. Surely makes me feel that much better about apologizing. :o

Cheers!
