To get the acceleration it needs to be on the primary monitor. So if your primary monitor is set to the 16:9 LCD TV, and you start the app on the 16:9 TV, then it should fill the screen.

For the high CPU usage, sorry you might have to try some other decoder to get a feel for what is happening. Might be worth testing a reliable one like the nvidia decoder trial, which should use the hardware acceleration - or alternatively the Cyberlink decoder.

You wont be able to use it on a secondary monitor since it'll result in high CPU usage and quality problem.s

Sub,

It just seems strange that with the same settings in config but using GBPVR vs PVRX2, the CPU usage goes from 21 to 100%. Is there some overhead that PVRX2 is using that GBPVR is not?

I will try NVIDIA but I think my trial had ended.

Are you running the same renderer in both though? PVRX2 is always using the VMR9 Custom renderer, so you'll have to set that renderer in config app for GBPVR.exe to give a fair comparision.

No I was not. That could be the problem. That must have been it for my old card also, the onboard could not handle any VMR. When I would go to VMR, I would get the black lines as well as a reboot.

Sub,

VMR9 Custom caused my video to become jerky and the CPU went up to 80%. Not sure where to go from here. I tried different decoders and they all act the same including Nvidia.

I'm obviously a little stretched timewise at the moment, but I'm sure we can work why your machine isnt seeming to be up to playing this. The videocard is obviously capable, but clearly not using any acceleration if the CPU is that high.

It might be worth trying VMR9 FSE playback in another player like ZoomPlayer to see what happens.

Ok, I can imagine you are pretty busy. I saw others are having VMR issues too. I'll keep an eye on their threads. I'll hit you with it again later (after it slows a bit) if I don't get it fixed.

Sub,

Going through the threads, I found the -fse switch. That made my video look good in the new version but my CPU is still at 100%.

Sub,

The 100% CPU seems to come up the first time I run PVRX2. The CPU stays at 100% even though I am just on the main screen. When I play a video it is still at 100%. When I then shut down PVRX2 and then restart it, then CPU goes to 25% even while playing a video.

Any ideas? Should I try a fresh install rather than an upgrade? Anyone else seen this behavior?

Does the CPU drop back by itself? It loads the tv guide in the background, but this shouldnt be that much of a hit on the CPU.

Reproduce the problem, leaving it at the main menu for a few minutes, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
