1776x1000.

My TV cannot upscale, it's a CRT RPTV.

A couple of other users reported something like this. I'm not sure of the cause yet. The found that bring the OSD up seem to brighten the picture up so they could see it- worth checking if that helps there.

OK, bringing up the OSD did work. Strange! Smile

-fse did not help playback. I'm going to download new video card drivers and give them a shot. Wish me luck, in the past I've had very poor results when trying to upgrade ATI drivers. Last time caused me to have to rebuild the system from scratch!

I run the latest ati drivers on a 9600 pro without problem but then i am not watching ATSC recordings. seriously I would try dropping the res first and see how that goes.

1776x1000 seems an odd resolution? I thought ATSC was 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

CRT TVs have overscan. ATI has the ability to set the resolution to alleviate issues with overscan. If I run 1920x1080, I can't see a large portion of the desktop. I've tried it at that resolution, and it's still jittery anyway.

The only other resolution I could use is 640x480 on my TV, and that kind of defeats the purpose of HD.

GEd, what Interlace mode do you run in the ATI Control Center?

weave (i.e. none)

I run at 720x576 which is native PAL resolution.

I don;t use video mode although I am aware that Csy recommends this. It gives me massive overscan.

I use the purevideo decoder set to raw, deinterlace=film.

Well, I made it through the installation of the new drivers, but as always the main video card WMA drivers hang... that's oK because when I reinstall the Theater 650 drivers, it installs the proper WMA drivers.

But... now I have no playback. Sad Help?

Oops, will post logs...

Well, reloaded the ATI decoder and now have video, but no sound. GRR! I wish I had the 1600 instead of all this ATI stuff.
