I recently tried to upgrade to v1.0.8 and have not been very successful. I have reinstalled many times, always run vcedist.exe, but still have major stability problems (Window with "pvr2 has encountered a problem and needs to close"). Have also done complete uninstall, deleted gbpvr, and started from scratch.

The main screen (Blue Skin) comes up fine, I can select Weather/Video Library/Music Player2 just fine. I get the above error message randomly in Weather, but always within about a minute after starting a Video or Music file.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs.

Probably worth trying with no plugins first.

sub - Thanks for the reply.

I launched pvrx2 this morning, opened Music Player2 and played 4 songs without an error, I then opened a video file and got the error referenced above almost immediately.

Here is my log file.

Thanks for your help.

I've noticed that Music Library 2 plug-in isn't entirely bug free just yet and after using the plug-in it either causes PVRX2 to crash or won't let me back to the main menu and I have to manually restart PVRX2. I suspect the plug-in is corrupting memory causing the whole application to be unstable.

For the moment, just get into the habit for restarting after using ML2. You should also report the problem in the plug-in forum and hope the author fixes the problems soon to this otherwise excellent plug-in.

It doesn't seem to be Music Library dependent.

I just did a computer restart, launched pvrx2, and started a video file. About 2 minutes into the movie I get the pvrx2 needs to close message. The movie continues to play in the background though.

the ML2 plugin may still load even if you do not select it from the menu.

as Sub said, try it with all plugins disabled (in config.exe)

I disabled all the plugins in config.exe. They still appear in the main menu, if I launch Music Player or a Video file. I still get the error after a short time of play.

If I run gbpvr Music Player and Video files run perfectly.

Does it help set the audio renderer to 'system default' instead of 'Xtreme Sound PCI Audio Device'?

Setting Audio Renderer to System Default still gives me issues. I have tried setting all Playback options to system default - but still the same. I have gotten the same error with never opening any application but weather! Weird.

The only saving grace is the gbpvr upgrade works fine, I would live with it but Music Player2 is so much more user friendly.
