Hi there,

First off I want to thank sub, and all the other developers on here. Its really inspiring to see everyone working together, free basically, to achieve a common goal. That goal being that gbpvr is some freaking awesome software!

On to the noob stuff....

I cant get several features working that I understand come packaged with gbpvr. First is the 'Search Guide' feature. Its clicked under the plugins section of the config but nothing appears in my main menu. This leads me to an assumption that my config preferences are beign ignored because comskip, and transcoding isnt working either. I have those options also enabled. The transcoding option was selected when setting the recording of the whole season in PVRX2, not in the experimental section transcoding in the config.

Im not sure where I can start to debug my problems honestly. It might be simply that the version I downloaded 3 days ago actually didnt come bundled for what ever reason. Any ideas?

What do you mean by: "not bundled"?
Afaik you have to install comskip seperately. It does not come with gbpvr.
Did you find the wiki: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php you can find a lot of answers there, even to questions you would never have asked.Wink

ah, I feel stupid now...

but this line in the doc confused me, along with the options in config:
"That has been integrated into GBPVR."

Its installed now, my next recording will hopefully have comskip work!

1 problem down, a couple to go.

I am not for sure but I think I read that with the new PVRX2 that the search guide a few other things are not implemented yet. This is the first version with the ne interface so as new releases come out I would think that some of the missing parts will be added back.

The search guide is only "kind of" there in the new user interface. If you press F1 (or the guide button on your remote) it'll take you to the tv guide screen. Press it a second time and it'll popup the search screen.

Alright cool cool. I understand the whole beta thing. I want to concrete again just to make sure I dont sound like a feature whore that I love your program.

I was installing ZProcess as I understand it will work with transcoding but I ran into a small error. I keep getting tabctl32.ocx cant be found errors when starting ZProcess. I think its Vista problem.. anyone else run into this.

Start a thread in the Zprocess support dept. here and I'm sure Zehd will look into this.

Hey, dont want to start a new thread, but was wondering if anyone knew the specifics on how transcoding works within pvrx2?

Like do I need ZProcess installed? Is the option to transcode when recording a whole season currently supported? tested? What about the experimental daily transoding options in the config?

Trying to get the full picture before I start breaking stuff Wink

Afaik it is not.

Just try it out, don't have the originals deleted, and see if it works.

Very likely Z-process does have more options, did you read the wiki?
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/ZProcess

Or just ask in the z-process support thread, never hesitate to ask.

Hmm, not sure if this is ZProcess of gbpvr but the automated transcoding is working with the expection...

-I have it set to xzid, yet the file is larger than the mpeg.. it is an .avi file
Thew new properties are :
Video: MPEG2 Video 640x480 29.97fps 9000Kbps [Video]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo 448Kbps [Audio]
The original is:
Video: MPEG2 Video 720x480 (4:3) 29.97fps 8250Kbps [Video]
Audio: MPEG Audio 48000Hz stereo 224Kbps [Audio]

Not sure what to do here about that. I checked ffdshow and its 900kbps bitrate. Is ZProcess overriding this somehow??
