Also, my system currently is this:
the twinhaun card to use for hdtv athlon 64x2 4000 1gb ram gfx card i'm currently running is an x1950 256mb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814102067) The gfx card i'm using in it is temporary untill I get the rest of the parts for my desktop i'm going to rebuild (that gfx card will be for the ddesktop) and I will switch it back to a x850. But for the time being, it's using that card, which has anything it'd need I'm sure.

Try installing AC3Filter. Google for it.

I think you may of misunderstood what I said.
I can play hdtv live and it looks fine, sound is fine, no lag, etc. When i play a recording that was made several hours ago (it was made when I didnt have ac3filter installed though, sot hat may be it), it lags. I doubt it's the computer, because the specs are much higher than most people that have done this on the forums appear to be using.

Sorry, I dont know then.

by lag, I mean the sound and video are both really choppy.
I think it's an issue with ac3filter that I installed, because if I load the video with software that I dont think is using ac3filter (ex. I used VLC player) I don't hear any sound, but the video runs smoothly) I havent been able to figure it out yet, so any tips would help. thanks
