I recently bought the card above but think it is the 1110 version because the card is triangular and like a lot of others haven't found the software very good. It is a bit jerky on the DVD-6 record video.

I would like to try your new release but in the download section of the new GBPVR it says

Before installing the new release you need to install http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip

You can download the new release from http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR10008.msi

If this is the first time I am trying this out do I need to download both please.

My system is AMD 1.3ghz with 1GB memory and 410gb of hard drive.

Yes.

Its worth noting that this device doesnt have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder on its analog side, so will not be usable for analog tv. You can use the digital DVB-T side of things though.

Thank you for reply Sub but can you explain what the first download is for? Also I think I have an MPEG2 encoder with WinTV-HVR 1100, although I am not 100% sure.

Also do I need to un-install the Win2000 software before installing gbpvr please?

It installs the latest version of the Microsoft runtime libraries.

Sorry, no it doesnt.

No you dont, but you do need an MPEG2 encoder installed.

Wow Sub you are real quick to answer, Thank you.

This is what it says about MPEG" encoder on the box. So taking that I already have one, is there maybe a better one that will work with gbpvr or won't I need another one? Sorry for all the questions but this is the first time I have used this type of program.

Digital TV Features

Record analogue TV shows to your PCs hard disk using our SoftPVR MPEG-2 encoder. TV recordings will typically take 1,5 GB of disk space per hour.
Auxiliary audio/video input for analogue video sources such as VCRs, Camcorders, satellite TV boxes, etc. S-Video and composite video, too!
Listen to stereo radio from over-the-air FM radio stations. Includes WinTV-Radio application.

SoftPVR MPEG-2 encoder means software encoder this does not work with gbpvr
its needs to be a hardware encoder (part of the card a silicon chip ) have a look on the wiki under hardware for cards that have this
but you can use the dvb side of the card as the digital signal is already encoded (the encoding is changing the analog to digital ie mpeg file)

As I am new at this what do you mean "You can use the dvb side of the card " and how.

Another question regarding the zipped file I downloaded where am I to extract it to please

extract the file to somehwere you know( i use desktop cause i m lazy) just delete it after you install

(i thought i had sent you crook but i havent had to check though)

the card is able to recieve analog and digital signal
but the analog part of the card will not work as it doesnt have the hardware encoder required
but you can use the dvb-t part of it (recieve digital signal)

OK thank you. I had a look at the zipped file and extracted it to my desktop. Once I have opened the ordinary folder and installed, is that when I can delete both the folders?

I didn't understand what you meant by this sorry.
(i thought i had sent you crook but i haven't had to check though)

But thanks for quick replies.
