Sorry I am at a complete loss now with the program. I went into config and didn't find any box that says.
"tick the box that says only show devices on this machine"
I couldn't find the capture source I have a Hauppauge WinTV -HVR 1100 or 1110 card but it isn't listed anywhere.
Maybe somewhere on this forum there is a tutorial on what I need to do to get it started. It seems complicated with EPG which I don't use and all the boxes that need ticking.
What is select map digital channels for instance.? Sorry to be a nuisance but it is hard when this doesn't seem to have any help files.
I have been all through the tuning devices and none of the Hauppauge ones seem to work.

hope this helps
if not ask more questions
once you have done all selections in the pic belo
see the button in the middle box map digital channels click that then there will be another box saying scan or rescan
this will find what stations are available
Hi thanks for tutorial but I now notice the five channels I had in WinTv do not work. I just get a black screen where I did have channels to view. The only program I can get to work in WinTV is my VHS channel for transferring VHS tapes to my computer. Even that didn't work until I uninstalled gbpvr.
At the moment I am at a loss as to what to do.
I did download the latest version of the program. I will reinstall and see if I can follow your tutorial.
I captured your tutorial with fastone capture. I have installed gbpvr again which immediately turned the TV off on my analogue stations but left the sound.
I followed the photo and have nothing like you have on it. I know i have the Hauppauge 1110 card installed on my computer. But if you look at the photo there isn't anything showing and I cant find anything that says "Only show devices in this machine"
It is completely lost on me. I have looked in everything along the top toolbar.
I appreciate all your help but if a program changes the way other programs play on my computer it is a bit annoying. I write tutorials and use Fastone capture which is easy to use and free. This program definitely needs something of that kind.
At the moment I have uninstalled it again to get my WinTV software working again. I updated to the latest drivers and now have umpteen digital channels plus my four analogue channels all working well in sync with sound.
I am able to record off of VHS with sound in sync as well.
So at the moment until this program can find somebody to write a proper tutorial on it I will have to forget it.
I may have another go later, especially as I now know you have to add but how on earth would anybody know how to do this without help files or a tutorial. Surely it could have been written for easier install to play, apart from searching for the channels.
people just get used to how windows programs install i think
you have to think outside the square a little bit more
and maybe this isnt the program for you as it does require a little bit more tweaking than you may like
you might be better off using what you already have
sorry that you couldnt get it going
and if 2 programs are going to use the same piece of hardware to do something then one will often take over the control of that
just like if you had 2 steering wheels in a car you cant use both at the same time
