Hi,
I have just upgraded my machine to Vista and cannot make the new exe work for live TV.
I have 2 tuners, a Hauppauge Nova-T-USB2 and a Hauppauge PVR 250.
I have been investigating, have reinstalled (various times) installed the VC Runtime stuff (various times...) and still cannot fix the problem.
I have tried different combinations of playback settings (video & audio codec) and the best results (as below) are using the Intervideo codecs and Default Wave renderer.
When I run with the new app and try to view LiveTV from the program guide on the nova, the screen goes blank, then flashes back to guide, then blank. It stays blank until I move the mouse, then redisplays the guide.
Looking in the logs I see that it recieved a Divide by Zero exception...
Trying to do the same with the Analogue card just displays a blank screen with the OSD on top but no video (I think the sound works, but I cannot remember at the moment)...
I then started playing with the old app:
Scenario 1: VMR9 Custom
On the digital tuner, when I try to watch from the guide, it comes up with a dialog box saying divide by zero...
On the analogue tuner, it works the first time, but then hangs with a blank screen if I escape and try to watch another channel or the same one again. I have to kill the app.
Scenario 2: VMR9
It all works as it should... Displays video on both the analogue and digital channels...
Could it be that NVidia have changed the drivers for Vista and now the Custom work around is not needed or indeed is breaking things?
Can anyone else confirm these findings?
I have the following system:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe MB (NForce 2),
Nvidia 6600GT 128mb AGP Graphics card
AMD Sempron 3000+ (2000Mhz)
1GB RAM
Vista Ultimate 32bit
Also, on my XP partition, all works fine on the VMR9 Custom setting.
Cheers
Ian
