NVIDIA TNT64 Video Card

I have been using 99.12 for several months OK on PC and MVP.
Tried today to update from 99.12 to new level 1016 on PC as i realise GBPVR.exe will go extinct soon!

Installed OK, but when PVRx2 starts up I get window frame but nothing inside but copy of existing background; i.e the frame does not fill as expected?

GBPVR.exe runs OK
Config. set to VMR9 with no error.
Is this a video card problem?

I suspect your video card might not be up to the task. Some Geforce MX users that had the same problem had success by upgrading the video card drivers, so you could try that.

also, 32megs mem on video card isn't enough for 2 monitors at any decent resolution, so make sure only running 1 video out and in config, make sure not set to start on second monitor...

and try pvrx2.exe -fse and see if that works better...

I don't think a TNT64 is capable of DX9 at any level, and that is what PVRX2 requires, so that might explain the issue you're describing.

I suspected it would be the Video card.
Can anyone suggest an AGP 4x card that would do the job to keep me going please?

i got myself a GECUBE RADEON X1050 128MB AGP some months ago. had enough of the nvidia crap ;-)
i'm not sure if it's AGP4x, search a bit around. reason i selected that card: it was one of the few fanless cards i could find for that money. a pro regarding ATI: you dont have to pay in addition for a codec (like nvidia purevideo). cost me about 50€ in germany.

ATI Radeon 9550 -- fanless and DirectX 9 rated. Look for one with the wider data path (256 bit versus 128 bit, if I remember correctly).

My Radeon 9500 works flawless, and on a 1GHz P3 at that! I would go with a 9500 or newer Radeon, maybe a 9600 Pro, because they're cheap, and easy to find used on ebay, or even new at some stores on clearance. The 9500 and anything newer are all DX9 cards. Good luck.
