Hello,

I'm having a very minor issue - and want to know if this is how it is supposed to work. I have several recurring recordings set up. There are a lot of shows I don't want recorded that get schedules - either I've seen them, or already have them recorded. (And the 'don't record duplicates' isn't picking up episodes since switching to schedules direct - but that's discussed in a different thread.)

Occasionally I'll look ahead at my pending recordings a day or two, and go through and cancel all the recordings I don't want. When the EPG updates, those recordings come back. I am doing a complete EPG reload. (On a side note, can someone give me the pros/cons of doing the complete reload?) It's a minor annoyance, but it seems I can't cancel a recording unless it is the day of the recording. I've upgraded a lot recently, but I believe this started when I went to 1.0.16.

Thanks, Merlynn

I noticed the same thing also only happening since I both upgraded to 1.0.16 and started using schedules direct. Likely unrelated, but I also noticed one occasion on which 1 had 2 shows scheduled for the same time displayed in pending recording and in the TV Guide, but when I checked for conflicts, there was good news - no conflicts. I cancelled one anyway as it looked like a conflict to me.

Why yes, that is the way it's supposed to work. :o Apparently what happens during the EPG update is that all Pending recordings are removed, the EPG database is updated, and then the Recurring recordings are processed against the fresh database, recreating the Pending list. In this way, changes to the local broadcast schedule get reflected accurately in the Pending list.

I'm having the same problem since switching to SD yet I do not remember this being an issue when using Zap2It's EPG. For instance, if a future (recurring) recording of a cable show such as "Mad Men" was conflicting with another recording I could delete this recording; then when my EPG would update that evening it would schedule the next airing of that episode instead of re-scheduling the same one that I deleted because of a conflict. Now it is definitely behaving differently as the OP stated -- if I cancel a scheduled recording because of a conflict it shows up again the next day...
