Hi Sub,

I really need your help to resolve this problem. Ever since I installed ver 1.16, several of my recordings have failed at random. When this occurs, the system appears normal. The show is listed in the "pending recordings" menu and its status is shown as "recording". But, it can't be previewed (played) and the mpg files don't exist. Also, I can't start the recording manually and I have to restart the system to get working again.

I am not sure, but this may be occurring after I view or record an ASTC program with the HVR-1600.

I am attaching the logs from the most recent failures (the Women's World Cup Soccer 3rd place and final games) and my system information is listed below.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for a great program.

What was the name and time of one recording that failed that is likely to be in those logs?

There were 4 shows that failed last night, the last two were:

Women's Soccer: FIFA World Cup, Third Place Match 4:55 am - 7:00 am
Women's Soccer: World Cup, Final 7:55 am - 10:00 am

I can see the following error being returned when it tried to start one of your recordings:
Quote:2007-09-30 08:55:20.257 ERROR failed to start Conexant Graph
2007-09-30 08:55:20.257 VERBOSE ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCES

I'm not really sure what the error means. Maybe it was in use somewhere else in the system? ie, do you have any other software installed that could be using the device, or maybe you're running on MCE?

Sub, thanks for your reply

I'm only running GBPVR over WinXP Pro. There are some other programs for writing DVD's etc, but they were not in use that day. Everything else should have been dormant when these recordings were scheduled to run. There was an EPG update scheduled to run at 4:00 am. But, this would have been after the first failure. The only other thing I can think of was that we viewed an ASTC program prior to these events.

Could there be a conflict between the tuners? What other SW would be using this graph?

Hi Sub,

It happened again. This time only one show was scheduled, "Prison Break" at 8:00 pm. We canceled it at 8:55 and saved the logs. I see the same error that you pointed out above. Is there anything else that I can do?

Yeah, same error coming back from the device when it tries to start it:
Quote:2007-10-01 20:00:02.081 ERROR failed to start Conexant Graph
2007-10-01 20:00:02.081 VERBOSE ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCES
To be honest, I have no idea what this specific error message means.

Sub,

There is one unusual thing in my configuration that may be related to this issue. I have 3 tuners:

PVR 150MCE
PVR 150
HVR-1600 NTSC and ASTC

Both the 150 and NTSC section of the 1600 are set as device 1. I cannot enter the 1600 as device 3 because the system says there is no driver for it. In the Windows device manager they are listed as device 0, 1 and 2. But, I cannot enter a "0" ID in GB. Therefore, the duplication.

Could this be causing a conflict?

Yeah, thats correct.

I'm confident you've got the device numbers correct, but thats not to say there isnt some conflict between the devices in some way not so obvious. You could maybe try removing the PVR150's for a short time to see if the problem goes away.
