Cahill84 Wrote:If I open the tv guide, and try to watch a show if I hit enter it will go to a black blank screen and nothing shows. If I use the mouse it simply returns to the main menu. Then when I try to close the program by hitting the exit button I get an error as well. I just applied all the patches and something doesn't seem to be working correctly. Beforehand, the problem I was having was that it wouldn't wake from the standby mode to record programs. Thoughts?
Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

This is because you're trying watch a digital channel via your HVR-1600 but the tuning information isnt set fo that channel. If you go into your capture source settings you'll most likely find there is a channel with 'enabled' ticked, but no tuning info is listed next to it.

Weird... it seems to have crossed my two xml files together for this one source. I'm going to empty the source and reload it and I'll tell you if that fixes it.

Along those same lines as the digital signal problem. Why do I get negative signal strengths? Is it's haupauge's driver or something else. I get a great picture and recording but something like -5000 signal strength.

There are no standards defined for what range of values manufacturers use for their signal strength/quality settings. Some manufacturers like Twinhan conveniently use 0-100. Some other manufactures (like Hauppauge) use -64000 to 4000 or something like that. I couldnt tell your whether -5000 is good or bad. This number range means nothing to me.

Everything seemed to be fixed. Everything opened up correctly. I set a delayed recording and that went well- it started the computer and everything. The recording was the correct channel. However, I just opened it a second time and closed it only to receive the same error message.

What time exactly did you get the error? I cant see it in your logs. Was it exactly the same error message?

Here I replicated the problem. I opened pvrx2 and then I go into the tv guide and then I back all the way out and exit. It causes an error saying that my information will be lost. I just caused the error at 10:07ish pm. On 10-10.

I think you're talking about the problem where you get an error message if you start the app then exit before the tv listings have finished loading in the background? This bug is a long standing well known bug, that has been with us ever since the SQLite database was introduced about a year ago.

The only people that tend to notice this problem and report it are people experimenting to reproduce other problems, ie stopping and starting regularly.

If this is the problem, just ignore it. The workaround is to not start the app them immediately exit.
