In the web interface:

Bug:
If I click on the search tab and after that on the TV Guide the TV Guide will be showing an empty EPG pointing on the day before current and 12AM. This doesn't happen when I'm going from "Manage Recording" to TV Guide.

Request 1:
I would like to be able to record everything with the keyword "Julia Roberts" or "Glenn Close" no matter channel or show. Is this possible? Also, can we have that option via the web?

Request 2:
It would be great if we in the web interface not only could pick to record the show we are standing at, but also all upcoming shows at that time on that day every week, or every day.

Anyway, I'm back at GB-PVR after a short one-night stand with GAM.
- "Sorry for being so untrustful, it will never happen again, bring me a beer will ya?"
(Those affairs I'm having with the others HTPC developers are ruin me. I'm registered for Meedio, Sage and GB-PVR, still my wife thinks I'm sooooo bad at configuring an HTPC, especially after I spent €180 on a Harmony remote wich should make "everything so easy, activity controlled honey, that's the key" and we still can't pump up the volume with less than five key presses..................)

After trying out a plugin clled xRecord I think that does some of the things I want.

Is there such a thing as xRecord for web users?

Since there are no replies yet I'm filling in a few other issues I've found. (I have a 'feeling' that this might be a plugin issue, forgive me for filing it in the wrong forum in such case).

We are still in the web interface, which will be me #1 UI for GB-PVR.

If I'm doing a search in the Search tab I get a listing of hits:

Nothing really works:

"Select All" -> No!
Checking "Daily, Seson, Current Channel or Season All Channels" and then check a show and then click Record: No!

Actually, only thing that works is If I click on the shows name and then do a regular "Record this episode"

With all these errors it's most probably just one thing that's missing on my setup. But the $10000 question is: what?

Any help is appreciated.

When I made the initial enhancements I intended to add all the standard recording features, but then I got side tracked on other projects and just haven't had the time to get back to the web features.

I sent what I had done, back to Sub, and left it at that. I know a few others have worked on enhancements, so you might want to search for the Enhanced Web admin, and post the request there. Maybe one of the others that have worked on the Web Admin will complete the recording features.

It may be a while before I get to implementing those features.

Thanks for your reply.

I have been doing web applications for the last 10 years and have seen and worked on many different platforms and applications server. Something I never done is however the MS stuff. I know java but not VB (some code in C# did I manage however, I know jsp but not asp or aspx. I am in the opiion that if you know a few computer languages it's fairly easy to get on board for new languages so I'm thinking, "what the heck" why not build your own web-interface?

So, now my questions are, is this API for gb-pvr well documented, poor documented or, hrmm, documented enough for a newbie to learn another application server?

Or isn't it all about C++, which I don't know (anymore).

If you know Java then you can do C#. Not a huge amount of documentation on the GBPVR API, but there are enough examples in the included Web App to give you a good starting point.

I didn't have any C# experience, but several years of Java and J2EE experience. Took me about a half hour to get going, and not too long after that to get some basic mods done. Think of ASP.NET as JSTL and you will be on track. Shouldn't take you long to get to a point where you will feel comfortable making mods. If you have any questions, just post a message in the Dev forum, and somebody there will more than likely have the answer.
