Awesome tools your burndvd and skiptool.

Maybe a suggestion and an issue:
would it be an idea to put a comclean button on the skiptool page?

When using the Blue Retro SHV skin BurnDVDX2 did not start as it was searching for the skin files under \skin\ instead od \skin2\. I don't know whether this is a skinning or Burndvdx2 problem but post it here and in the Blue Retro SHV tread.

I solved it temporarily by copying the skin files into the legacy \skin\ directory.

edit:

When posting in the Blue Retro SHV http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post235992 I saw other post reporting a bug in GBPVR looking in the legacy \skin\ directory.

I use both the old and the new skinhelper in burndvdx2. There are two files that need to be in the skin/blue (or whatever) dir, skinPAL.xml and skinNTSC.xml. You would need to copy these over to get the plugin to work correctly.

I'm planning on building a transcode queue into skiptool and one of the functions in Stattik's scripts is to cut commercials without screwing up the timeline.

In trying to get thing going I had copied the skinPAL.xml already into the \skin2\xxx\ directory, and then copied it with the complete \xxx\ dir into the legacy \skin\ dir. I just checked it is indeed only the skinPAL.xml (or skinNTSC.xml whether you need PAL or NTSC LOL) that needs to be in the \skin\xxx\ dir .... odd.

The skinPAL or skinNTSC is selected based on whether you are configured for pal or ntsc in the config application. Only one gets used.
Copying into the skin2 dir won't help since the legacy skinhelper doesn't look there. Does that clear things up?

I have been keeping an eye on your plugin & as soon as I get some free time I will be giving it a try Smile

I am the one that wrote the Blue-Retro-SHV skin (the other problem with it looking in the legacy \skin\ directory is actually a 1.0.16 bug that sub has fixed for the next release) But is there something I need to add to my skin to allow plugins to work?

When I ported the DVD build portion of Burndvd I didn't want to convert it over to skin2 because I needed to create screens that are not based on what the video is currently set to but based on whether it is intended for an NTSC or PAL DVD player. What this means is that there are skin/blue/BurndvdX2 and skin2/blue/Burndvdx2 directories. When you create your skin files, BurndvdX2 needs both paths appropriately named.
The files in the legacy skin dir are only for building the menus for the DVD, the files in the skin2 dirs are the skin files for displaying various elements of the plugin

So should I recommend that my skin be unzipped into both the skin & skin2 directory so when users install plugins like yours it can create the appropriate sub directorys?

No I wouldn't do that since the new skins are not compatible with the old as you know.
Basically there are a couple of problems with the skin handling in burndvdx2.
The legacy skinhelpper does not copy missing skin files from the blue skin to the active skin. I just made a change to check if the files are missing and copy them if needed. That will fix that problem.
There is also a background image that is used to generate the DVD menu that the skinhelper looks for in the toplevel skin dir and not in burndvdx2. It's called background.jpg. I'm going to make a copy of that file and move it into the skin/blue/burndvdx2 directory with the skinntsc.xml and skinpal.xml files.
I will also check if it is present and if not copy it over.
Once I get the second change in I'll release it and that should fix all the problems for people wanting to use different skins.

Released v1.0.0.9 to fix the skin problems with missing files in the legacy skin dir. You only need this release if you are using a skin other than blue and are experiencing trouble.
