mmmm, I'm quite sure it used to accept .bat files.
Maybe this could work: first add an .exe, save the configuration, but then change it manually in the config.xml file
Sounds dodgy. I tried it, but I can only find the button name in the xml file. I can't find the reference to the .exe, so I cannot change it. In any case, the plugin button does not appear in the GBPVR main menu either.
You're right, It is not in the config.xml, I think it is kept in a table in the gbpvr database. Don't have a db viewer though to check it.
And you're also right that the button does not show up, at least not in PVRX2. I guess this is one of the feature we'll have to wait for the next version. In GBPVR.exe, the button shows up and executes the external task.

How do you run an added plugin if there is no button on the gui  ?
Sorry to bring this post back from the dead, but I am trying to add a option to my MVP software to restart the MediaMVP services from the MVP software. My MVP freezes from time to time when playing videos. Usually I just power off and back on my MVP to unfreeze it, but I get "Data Server is Busy" message when I go to play the video again. I have to go back to my computer to Restart the MediaMVP services to get it to work again.
My problem is that I don't know where to begin and plus I don't want to switch to GBPVR because I'm not even using GBPVR.
