It thus allows you to see the status of the MVP at a glance, with a very low system resource utility. It thus allows me to use mvpmc to turn off the MVP remotely downstairs if left on. I turn it off as it causes my low spec PC to stutter on LiveTV. Saves me a trip donstairs (lazy that I am). k.

Mine was GREEN when the MVP was connected and on. If you hover a mouse over it, then it displayed the filename of the recording being played on the MVP - or IDLE. Excellent as a warning not to reboot or restart recording services.

Hi
My Tray Icon seems to be working fine, however i am trying to debug the EWA but i stumbled over this in my Config.exe.log file 2007-11-02 16:24:00.111 ERROR [1] Error initializing event plugin: D:\Program Files\PVR\gbpvr\plugins\MVPTRAYICON\MVP Tray Icon.dll 2007-11-02 16:24:00.111 ERROR [1] Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. 2007-11-02 16:24:00.111 ERROR [1] at System.RuntimeTypeHandle.CreateInstance(RuntimeType type, Boolean publicOnly, Boolean noCheck, Boolean& canBeCached, RuntimeMethodHandle& ctor, Boolean& bNeedSecurityCheck) at System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceSlow(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean fillCache) at System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceImpl(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean skipVisibilityChecks, Boolean fillCache) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type, Boolean nonPublic) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.xc4f12ec3a8a4c96b.xd1ccdef346e6a297(Boolean x8bae2a88590d8cc0) GBPVR = v1.0.16 MVPTRAYICON = v1.0.6

I've had that one forever too.
I think the MVP Tray Icon author disappeared a long time back, and sub may have mentioned somethiong about behaviour out of his control. Now that there are two of us (I seem to have the most one-off errors on this forum ) maybe sub can have another look :-) Still works though. k.

Sorry, I really dont anything about this utility or what it does behind the scenes. If he provided the source, then some other developer might be able to take it on.

I remember one issue with this: when you use a tray-icon like this you can't run the gbpvrrecordingservice under a username (for accessing network drives) because it can't interact with the desktop then.
Although I saw a work around for that a few weeks ago: a "trick" to access network drives under the system account. Hans

I believe this util has an icon for this: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...verChecker k. I thought this did too, but it looks like just a GBPVR icon Tray Replacement. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/SlimmGBPVR

the ZTools in newer, however i have spoken with the MVP Tray icon creator, the tray icon doesnt work with the latest PVRX2 runtime, however i have given him this link in the hopes this can be resolved, i do like the MVP tray icons that was orginally designed as they where more simple (less is more) and totally configurable in the config.xml file.
Should he not be able / want to do this (he doesnt use MVP anymore) then i might take it up to attemt to get something simular (same?) working if enough people are interesting (will mean me having to learn to program i might add, something i dont really want to have to do but then i like the tray icons). |
