This isn't the case for me...

I get one for each of my MVPs, though only one is currently connected.

Major Hostility Wrote:The downside of this change is that the MVP Tray Icon won't initialize and display anything in the tray before an MVP connects, which isn't a big problem, especially for anyone who leaves the MVP(s) on all the time. However, anyone who does turn off the MVP will most likely lose the tray icon until it's turned back on.

Is this what most people are seeing that was deemed "unstable", or are there other issues once an MVP has connected?
This is what I see, no icon unless the MVP is on. But also, if (when) the MVP restarts, it leaves the icon(s) in the tray until you mouse over them, so sometimes there are quite a few showing.

Also, I have the crt monitor set to power off after one minute, but it seems to wake quite often lately, and often stays on. I have suspected pvrx2 and mvptrayicon as the culprit, but haven't dug into it. Has anyone else seen this with their monitor?
What, me worry?

Ah ... that error is thrown by Config.exe. Interesting. I wonder if that's because the MVP Tray Icon plugin doesn't include IMenuTask or IUiTask interfaces ... Any thoughts on that Sub?

The reason I had the plugins loaded after the connection was made was so that plugins dont start doing stuff in the background unless the user is actually using that MVP. There was situations with the Weather plugin etc continually pulling in weather updates etc from the internet when no one was using that MVP. This could become a problem if the user was running multiple MVP servers. The downside of moving that initialisation to before the connection occurs is that these plugins can start doing all sorts of activity that can interfere with the smooth running of the other processes (I'm primarily meaning the smooth playback of video on that PC).

This specific error message in the logs can be safely ignored.

I can see how that could be a problem. It's just unfortunate that the tray icon can't monitor the connection status if it's not loaded Wink
