Hi Sub and community. I appreciate all the positive support and the high level of response you offer. I have been really enjoying GBVR and hope to get the full functionality resolved at some point. Thanks and now to address my progress good and bad.

First the positive. I have not had any more errors during live TV lately although I have done nothing I know of to remedy that problem. Another positive is I have resolved my epg issues. My comprehension of how the epg works is now clear. There is the epg setup in the config which simply loads the channels into the database then there is the epg scrape that has to occur to form the xml doc then there is the auto update of the epg into GBVR that migrates the data from the xml file so that when I pick Program guide, I will see the programs listed with my channels. I had to set up a scheduled task to update the scrape/xml update and that took care of the problem. I had also lost some channels in my line up which I remedied with an antenna adjustment. I will also add that when things don't seem to be working well, restarting the recording service in the task tray and retrying makes a world of difference. Thanks for this major tip! With this said, I will turn to my recording issues.

I scheduled the following recordings on 11/30/2007

11/30/2007 1:30 AM Travelscope
11/30/2007 2:00 AM The Desert Speaks
11/30/2007 2:30 AM Smart Gardening
11/30/2007 3:00 AM Best of Joy of Painting
11/30/2007 5:30 AM Priscilla's Yoga Stretches
11/30/2007 5:45 AM Priscilla's Yoga Stretches
11/30/2007 10:00 AM Nova

All show up under Recordings Ready.
Only the Travelscope recording shows a Ready status.
All others show a Failed status.
The Travelscope recording does not play. Obviously the others don't play either.
All logs zipped and attached. Thanks for your help.

What time were these other shows expected to record so I know where exactly to look in the logs?

Also, did they literally end up listed as "failed"? This typically means the machine or recording service was not running at the time the show was expected to record.

Yes, their status literally says FAILED with the exception of the Travelscope recording. It says READY but will not play.

Sorry - I didnt see the times in your previous post.

By the abscense of log messages during those times, it really looks like your machine either wasnt on at the time, or the recording service was not running.

This program ended up in the Ready Recordings with a READY status. If my machine was not on or the service not running, I would expect it to have not recorded anything and it would have had a FAILED status like the rest. Further, I would expect that if my machine were off or the service not running, that the recordings would be listed as PENDING rather than FAILED.

Incidentally, when I attempted to play this file outside of GBPVR with Media Player Classic it attempted to play but the playback was slow, jerky and had a stereo image effect where the screen was duplicated and played back side by side. Although the playback is bad, I will play it long enough to confirm it was indeed the program I was wanting to record.

For what it is worth, every time I have checked for the recording service, it has been in the task manager and I never power the system down. It seems that every time I attempt to record anything it makes the attempt, but all subsequent scheduled recordings fail.

OK, here is what I will try. I will check to be sure that my screensaver and power saver features are all disabled. I will then check to be sure the recordingservice is running in the background. I will schedule only one recording to see if it will work and go from there.

If you or anyone else has suggestions, I would very much appreciate your input. All the best, Jerry

or the machine had gone to standby/hibernate after that recording.

As soon as the machine spots it has recordings that are make as PENDING that should have completed in the past, then it immediately marks them as FAILED.

That'll be related to the decoders you're using to play that file.
