All my recordings and my live tv are being shown in widescreen. I checked the config and it's set to 4:3. Anyone have any ideas, or is a log file needed?

Press F7 until you're in the auto aspect ratio. Also make sure your using a video decoder other than 'system default'.

my systems seems to be 'forgetting' that it's set to 4/3 and stretches everything to full vertical even when set to auto...Sad
if i shutdown pvrx2 then come back in, it may play correctly...

livetv still has correct aspect...file playback switches on and off 16/9..even during playback, if i switch aspect modes sometimes it will get stuck stretching to fullscreen vertically...can't get it back without exiting gb..
even when stuck, livetv looks correct..!?

will change some options to see where it's coming from...any ideas?

You dont have your video decoder set to 'system default' do you? You need to have it set to something other than 'system default' for the auto aspect ratio to work.

course not...never know what you're gonna get that way...Smile

just very odd behavior...i uninstalled and re-installed fresh + old config.xml, and it was way whacky....still no live osd, and other things were screwy too...
auto-aspects work maybe first time, but after that, doesn't..
have to restart pvrx2 to get them back...
only files suffer the aspect thingy..livetv works fine everytime, maybe video driver damage...will be upgrading MB soon and video to a 2400 so will probably fix it...
will try video driver now and see if that does it..

this is my umpteenth upgrade on that machine so probably due for a clean start...Big Grin

I thought I should mention it because I know some purevideo decoder users insist on using it that way, and picking it up through 'system default' so that they see the nvidia tray icon.

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Just thought I'd add that this is the same problem that i and a few others reported in a separate thread some time ago, I still have found no fix, the defining thing seems to be that it happens in recordings but not live tv even in timeshift mode.

Does pressing F7 change the aspect ratio at all? Post a screenshot of what you get with the 'auto' aspect ratio, and also zip and attach your pvrx2.exe.log and pvrz2.exe-native.log.
