pBS Wrote:no osd on livetv only here either...
seems like it's just ignoring the keystroke altogether..keyboard/remote no show...
like something's blocking that keystroke in particular...works fine everywhere else..

have been checking everything..key mappings don't seem to do anything either...when i map them, not a single one changes any commands..[i normally swap home and ctrl-b, even then, home brings up inset instead of osd or nothing as it should if mappings working]
using 1.1.5

also, none of the color keys seem to work...
i'm using post 32775 codes if that makes any difference..
Reproduce your problem then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

If the all OSD graphics are missing and the keys dont work then this is usually a sign you're using a video decoder that isnt compatible with VMR9, like the Cyberlink one if you havnt applied the EnableVMR9=1 registry setting.

I'm still also having this problem with 1.1.5. I'm using the MPV video decoder.

The green button brings up the old guide, and I get the current info when changing channels, etc., but pressing the blue or CTRL-B doesn't do anything. I'm using the MCE V2a remote.

My logs showed the blue button (CTRL-B) being pressed, but nothing being done with it.

I can post some logs too if needed.

I'm sure thats different from the problem pBS is having. The key part of my reply to him was: "If the *all* OSD graphics are missing and the keys dont work then this is usually a sign you're using a video decoder that isnt compatible with VMR9". This is an old problem we've seen several times over the last couple of years.

Sorry, I thought pBS was having similar problems as discussed earlier in this thread. But I see that you responded that you didn't have any ideas on what the problem would be.

all osd graphics are missing,[timeline and desc.] but only in livetv when hitting ctrl-b or by remote..
when changing channels, it displays, when in timeshift, it displays...on recorded files it displays..so shouldn't be video related i would think..
i've had that 'no osd at all' problem before..this doesn't seem same..

so i get same behavior as everyone in this thread..

i have another system that doesn't have the problem, so am puzzled...
problem system was an upgrade from 99.x, working system was an upgrade from 1.0.16...if that helps..
HD plays fine so shouldn't be video card...Big Grin
tried both ati avivo decoder and dscaler...

oh yea, and it does show when first starting livetv, but i can't get it back up to save my life..
logs coming..

Hi

Just to throw my error in the pot too...

I get the same problem as pBS.

I had some trouble getting the remote to work fully - if I use directly and stop the IR program I don't get the live TV pause / record functions working, if I use the Hauppauge IR program and untick the direct use option then I get the record and pause functions BUT in all cases I don't get the OSD except at first changing channel.
If I click the mouse then I get the OSD info with the OSD controls as well.

I am using Win2000 and have VMR9 selected although there is a comment somewhere that says VMR7/9 does not work in win2k and the overlay will be used.
Am I using overlay?
Is there anything in common between our set ups?

cheers

I get the OSD with a mouse move, but not with a keyboard ctrl-B or blue remote button.

I think that the IR INI file is used even if IR32.EXe is not running and PVR uses this.
My blue button is defined as ctrl-B in the PVRX2 section and I an using IR32.exe.

The log file shows that a SHIFTKEY is being received (and obviously has no mapping).

There must be some other place where the mapping is done. Where?

I'm missing some part of the sequence of events, can someone enlighten me please. Thanks.
