pvrx2 exception error and crash in .Net runtime

Sorry but I have to post this for support since I couldn't find any old thread to help resolve.
The pvrx2.exe for gbpvr v1.1.5 crashes with an "execption error" after running for about an hour or so. Killing processes and restarting the service brings it up again and then repeats with a crash.
I'm running a 1.6ghz dual core e2140 with 2gb ram, nVdia geForce 8500gt with 512ram, ATI 650pro, 150Gb on the C drive and 200Gb on the data/downloads drive.

OS is win2003 server (new install) with current .Net v3.5 and latest patches. VcRedist installed, no firewall or other services except symantec. Directx 9.0c (with quartz ver B), cyberlink (ati) codecs and ffdshow installed/enabled.

Client is an MVP running over wired 100mb lan with a giga switch.

The Event manager under Application events shows -- Source .Net Runtime Error Reporting: Event ID 5000: EventType clr20r3, P1 pvrx2.exe, P2 1.0.0.0, P3 29, P4 mscorlib, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 471ebc5b, P7 183b, P8 1e, P9 system.argumentexception, P10 NIL.

Plugins - ML2 (also crashes mvp upon start - maybe since no db yet) and latest Video Archive plugin; over and above the default gbpvr set (all enabled by default).

Last crash occured at 8:28pm - ataching some recent logs. Please let me know if other info is needed. Any info and help is greatly appreciated.

Try installing .net 2.0 to see if it helps. It lives in a different directory to .net 3.5, and can be installed at the same time.

gr8 - thnx for the quick reply. I tried putting in .Net 2 and it wouldn't go. I'll try the install in a different directory as suggested and if it goes in, will leave pvrx2 running for a while and see if the issue pops back.

I just checked - its running .Net 2 with sp1, .Net 3 with sp1 and .Net 3.5. Dunno if these came in through autopatcher etc.. Will remove .Net 3 and .Net 3.5 and see how it goes. Not sure if I need those for anything (my FliteSim?)..

Remove the plugin and it should go away.

Just out of interest you mentioned .NET sp1 - how do I know if I have sp1 for .NET?

help!....

I am getting "unexpected exception" when PVRX2 starts. It shows a nice JIT error dialog. PVRX2 does not get round to starting as it repeatedly shows the error box.
I had to task manage kill PVRX2.
I can get it starting by firing up the config and pressing ok. The I can start PVRX2, however on exit it shows a do you want to send MS a report error dialog.

Its normal to get this error if you exit the application before the tv listings have finished loading in the background..

These are the most likely cause of your error. You have the PC configured as a client and it is looking for the database at \\Whizzo-media-pc\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3 but not finding it. On your client PC check the share path is setup correctly.
