Hi,

I am not sure whether this forum is the right target for this question, but I hope people may encountered similar problems.

I use a Windows MCE remote to work with GB-PVR. I am also using EventGhost and MCE replacement driver. As long as I plug in MCE IR receiver into USB, my laptop (Dell 8600) is not able to got to Standby.(Both S3 and S4). A window pops saying something like "USB Hub preventing windows going into Standby". Driver property (MCE remote) under device manager doesn't show a power management tab.

Can this be fixed/worked around?

Thanks in advance!!

I have noticed that with the replacement driver I can't come out of standby/hibernate with the remote control 'PC' button. No probs going into standby/hibernate though. I'm a big fan of turning the PC off and on from the remote control, so I switched back to the original driver.
I now use EventGhost and the eHome driver as I found a regedit hack to allow it them to work together. i.e. avoids double key presses etc. I also had a quick play with HIP and it seems to work also - and the blasters work with HIP too.

PS: garymeds - as far as I know the eHome driver is not the replacement driver. eHome is the standard Microsoft one. The replacement one comes up as something else in the human interface devices

Hmm I tried both original and replacement driver and neither worked. But I would love to know the reg hack. Can you let me know the details? Can you do power management with ehome driver?

I used this link
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce_re...ml?t=29024
and did the following from it...
Quote:Load "regedit.exe" and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da

Then delete the keys from "CodeSetNum0" to "CodeSetNum3".

To make sure you can recover these keys easily should you want to you should save them by using the export function in the file menu.

Once the registry has been changed you will need to reboot for the change to take effect.

it mentions that the driver is obsolete

don't know about power management with eHome - I think the driver does have a tab regarding power management.
