Scan has this on their web site for the PCI card - I don't know if any of it would apply to the USB version.

AMD cpu?

****Please Note: The current batch in stock is Nova-TD 500, which is an upgraded version with Dual Aerial input. Although this version is slightly better spec than the original, there have been issues reported if using it on certain AMD Platform Motherboards with an AMI BIOS + with onboard graphics which has also got a PCI Express graphics card installed. Also please note that there are no non-windows drivers available for this card, so it is not suitable for use with Linux. ****

Hauppauge UK forums has mention of this "There is a known incompatibility with the chipset on the Nova-TD-500 PCI card and AMD processors. It might be worth checking with Hauppauge Support whether the same issue arises with the Nova TD stick."

According to to your filtercheck.log you've only got a single tuner device on your machine.

I've just used the diversity tool and it shows only one tuner. I'm runng a AMD 64 with onboard graphics so it looks like a trip to the hauppauge forums to see if they can resolve this. I'll report back the findings.

thanks for the help

Hi Mr Spudnut

Life always gets in the way of mucking about with pcs, but to date, the system appears to be recording on one, and allowing you to watch live tv on the other, however not recording with both - which is what I want.

I've downloaded the AMD optimiser from the AMD website, and that appears to help.

When I get the time, I will look further into this, but time is against me.

Bump!

Did you get this working? I'm going to have to remove my Terratec win DVB-T PCIe tuner card to make way for a HD compatible video card, so I want an external USB2 DVB-T tuner and this one looks ideal. However I will want to record on both tuners sometimes. Have others got this working as 2 independent tuners?

I had this problem last year with the 500-TD on my AMD system (lot of BSODs etc.). I subsequently noticed the box had a sticker on it that said for "intel" systems only. Following discussions on the Hauppauge forum I spoke to Hauppauge UK support and got my 500-TD exchanged for a 500-T free of charge. That has worked perfectly ever since.

Well I haven't got it working, and I have an intel chipset, didn't have diversity mode switched on, did have different names for my tuners blah blah... but it didn't work for more than just tuner 1. So I left it in diversity mode on that tuner for better results.

Not that I tried exhaustively - I don't hold out much hope of there ever being two programs simultaneously on Freeview which are both worthy of watching :p So I'm not bothered to fiddle with it any more.

Otherwise it's a nice tuner and a Hauppauge remote isn't the worst thing to have.
NPVR 2.5.9 in Windows 7 32-bit SP1 on Mac Mini (Bootcamp 3.2) (Core2 Duo 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM), Hauppauge Nova-TD USB in dual tuner mode and pctv nanostick T2 (290e) HD tuner for Freeview HD (uk-CrystalPalace DVB-T). Using System plugin.
