Got the new recording, but building an image failed with the same problem: missing ifo file.

So, I think it isn't a problem from the plugin. Will try a little bit around with ffmpeg and dvdauthor. As soon I have mor info, I'll be back.

Have a nice weekend all together Wink

yes i also get the no .ifo file error when i try to burn material off one channel that i know of.

If anyone has a way to host an Mpeg that causes this issue, I'll be glad to look at it. All of the tests that I run here, don't have any issues.

kurtph Wrote:Hi,

I'm a bit confused as to how to increase the quality when burning to DVD. When I record to an Mpeg the file seems fine. I've noticed that when I burn it to a DVD there's a lot of flicker - which doesn't seem to be there on the original Mpeg. So it sounds like a problem in the convert to DVD process.

What are the main settings that I should change and where do I find these settings? I'm using a DVB-T in the UK.

Thanks,

Kurt

Try running without any commercial skip options. That will use FFmpeg and not mencoder. See if that helps.

Not sure if this is the same trouble, but I did get a file that was exhibiting the trouble and it had a timestamp issue. You can check this by looking in the ffmpeg.log in the temp\burndvd dir and see if there is a timestamp error.

Pastro....

Mind giving me a rundown on the differences between this and showburner?

I've been using showburner for the last few months, but it seems to have died on me at this point. (I think I'm at the point of a complete GBPVR rebuild, since I've been continously upgrading since something like 96.x(

Basically burndvdx2 incorporates a gui to create a DVD. Showburner is a little less user friendly but it does a good job creating a DVD as well. I used showburner quite a bit, but it was a little hard to explain to the kids how to build a dvd. Tmrt created burndvd which made it easier to build dvds and explain the process to the kids. I modifed burndvd for pvrx2 and called it burndvdx2. In the process I added a few new features to the plugin.
Burndvdx2 allows you to set commercial skip points, trim the start and stop times, set menu pictures from the mpeg directly(showburner has this capability but it works differently) set menu text, add subtitles, and trim commercials. It can create 16:9 or 4:3 in NTSC or PAL. Again, burndvdx2 was built on the great work that pbs did on showburner and tmrt did on the gbvpr version of burndvd.

Hmm looks like it can't update the config.xml doc. Do all of the boxes in the config form have values associated with them? All of the directories, burner, drive etc?

I have an issue where I click on the menu item for BurnDVDX2 and it blinks and does nothing. Looking through this forum it appears that this has happened before and I may not have the most up to date versions of the files. Is there a location I can find the latest? specifically:
WizUiHelper.dll version 1.0.15.0 or newer
CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll 3.0.2822.33715 or newer

the locations I've found on this site aren't these versions.

The plugin packages the correct version of the dll's so you should be ok there. Can you clear your logs, get the error and then post your pvrx2.exe.logx files?
