If there is any encrypted channels found, then the preview window functioning could be a bit hit or miss regardless of what you select.

Hmm, it found the channels... and I got to make a recording.. but I can't play the dvr-ms file (I tried in Nero Showtime 2, VLCplayer and wmp).

Anyways, I went back and opened the config app to see if I could still do the scanning (all tuners are sleeping), but now it gives the "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use" message. And when I click OK, the config app freezes... quite strange...

The logs are here: logs-twinhan-13-02-2008c.rar

This is what I did (more or less, it is after all a few minutes ago Wink ):

Through the EWA I started to record 3 programs that were currently on on the 3 channels that are on both the PVR-500 and the Twinhan tuners, to force it to record on the Twinhan tuner (though I should probably just have moved the Twinhan recording source up in the config app....). The I stopped the recordings after a few minutes, when I saw that I couldn't play back the dvr-ms file I thought I should try again, and it worked just as well as the first time (I got the recordings, but couldn't play the dvr-ms file). Then I went to the config app and tried to scan for the channels again, and this is when the ("GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured....") error came.

I have the last recording I got from the Twinhan card, and it's about 20mb, so I can upload it if it'll tell anything usefull.

Okay, it didn't find any other channels aside from the ones that aren't encryptet.

Can you restart the recording service, then do similar tests but from the GB-PVR TV Guide, then posts the logs? I'd prefer to take EWA out of the mix when I'm looking at logs.

Of course! Smile

logs-twinhan-13-02-2008d.rar

I moved the Twinhan card up to the top of the list in the config app prior to this log, and only made one recording. Also, this time the config app didn't crash when I click OK on the error message.

The recording log looks fine. Did the file get created? How big was the file?

yeah, it's 32MB, Explore in windows says it's 49 sec long at a bitrate of 5097kbps and that it's not "protected" (I'm running a Danish version of XP SP2). WMP crashes when I try to play it though.

Brilliant question Wink I should of course have checked that.... Yes, it plays fine in GB-PVR! Smile Live tv works too from the Twinhan card!

Thanks for all the help, Sub! I still can't scan for new channels in the config app, but that'll only be a problem tomorrow when I get a cardreader Wink I guess it's more or less a matter of messing with the driver versions until it gets accepted in the config app.

Okay, it didn't last long...

Last night (after my previous post), I recorded Seinfeld with the Twinhan card, then watched it (looked perfect), and then I went to bed. I usually leave the computer on with the GB-PVR interface running, so I also did that yesterday too.

Then, today, I thought I'd just try to record something else to see if everything was still fine, but this time I got the same 6KB recordings... I then restarted the computer and tried to make another recording, but the same thing happened.

This is the log from after the restart (so I just opened the PVRX2 interface, and recorded something that was on at the time, waited a few minutes, stopped the recording and tried to play it back): logs-twinhan-14-02-2008a.rar

This is the recording that gets made: Grøn glæde_20080214_13301350.dvr-ms (6KB)

When I go to the config app and try to scan for new channels I get the "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use" message. And, actually, just trying it now made the config app crash when I clicked OK. Logs from that crash is here: logs-twinhan-14-02-2008b.rar

I'll try some diffirent driver versions now, 'cos that's what seem to make it work yesterday. The successful recordings yesterday was made with 1.0.3.0 (sep 6 2006), but it's failing today...
