I assume you've tried these different audio/video decoder combinations?

Unfortunately the log you attached above seems to be full of all sorts of activity so I'm not sure where in the log to look to find the problem. Can you restart PVRX2.exe, then reproduce the problem then repost the logs? If you had to change channels several times to reproduce it, please let me know what time the problem occurred, and what channel you were changing from/to.

Hi sub

Tried all combinations, the scenario i have described is the best of the lot.

I have just killed all logs, restarted the app, and did the following:

Load Media Player: 17:21
Live TV: 17:21
Channel: Dave (Top Gear): 17:21 (Played Perfectly)
Channel: Virgin1: 17:22 (Audio, no video, EPG OK)
Channel: TMF: 17:22 (OK)
Channel: Ideal: 17:22 (OK)
Channel: BidUp TV: 17:22 (Audio, no video, EPG OK)
Exit at 17:23

Many Thanks

Ben

First try disabling DVB-Subtitle support on the misc tab of the config app.

If that doesnt help, try installing the MPV/MPA audio decoder from here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPA_Decoder.htm

Its not related to this. This warning message will often show up in the log when the application is being shutdown.

Interestingly, I have been running this in full screen mode, and switching to Windowed mode had two effects:

1. It displayed every station with both audio and video

but

2. It was out of Synch

I'll keep trying!!

Hi sub

Interesting development here. Having exhausted all options in GBPVR, trying every combination, it seemed logical that perhaps the problems lies with the Hauppauge card/software rather than with GBPVR

Hauppauge 3000 comes with the standard software, and i noticed that with the WinTV software TV works perfectly when it uses VMR7, but when you switch to VMR9 you get exactly the same results as I found with GBPVR... Therefore I assume problems lies with the card or the software..

Will try and find out from Hauppauge if anything can be done...

Many Thanks for help, will post as soon as I get a result

I wouldn't spend too long playing about with the hauppauge software, it's mostly buggy garbage.

Not that it's much help but I'm using an HVR-3000 card with no problems on UK freeview and the free satellite channels. Make sure you've got the latest hauppauge drivers installed from their website and try a combo of decoders as sub said. Shouldn't be any problems using VMR9 or FSE.

And if none of that works you may have to send the card back I'm afraid.

Hi frank

Thanks for that, appreciate the comments. I will give Hauppauge a quick call, as I took your advice and downloaded the latest Feb 2008 Pre-release of the software (which is mildly better than the Nov 2007 stable release). If all else fails I'll send the card back

I also am using UK Freeview, but the symtoms are now very clear - problems exist only when I am using VMR9 and in fullscreen mode (no matter what software I'm using).

Many Thanks again,

Ben
