[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (reven @ Feb. 19 2005,06:47)]sorry agerdin i guess i did misread your question, for album art it will look for Folder.jpg/Folder.png/Default.jpg/Default.png (it that order),
so for:
D:\my music\metallica\metallica\enter sandman.mp3
the album image would be:
D:\my music\metallica\metallica\folder.jpg etc.
album images arent download from freedb (i dont think you can get this) and they arent stored in the database, i will consider adding amazon.com lookup or another website, just have to find a good one, with smallish images (200x200 is a good size).

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]i didn't notice that, since i do not record any episodes :-) -> how about the information from imdb? would it be difficult to display the title, if there is no subtitle and if it is the only show with that name and to display the filename in any other case?
but what about when you lookup info about a show from imdb?  already thought of this aswell Tongue i figured if the filename is correct you can rename it via the onscreen keyboard, which will rename the file so the problem is solved.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]found another little problem with myMusic: the "undefined" button on the hauppauge-remote normally plays a file or folder. the red button adds a file/folder to the playlist. but this doesn't work with audio-cd's. i added the cd-drive (the first one) to the virtual root - list and it works except the "play all" or "add folder to playlist" - features.
ill fix this in the next release.
Hi Reven,

Sorry to be back on the Album art issue again [Image: smile.gif] I still dont understand why some of my album art is shown in your plugin. I do not have a single jpg in my folders so it must pick up the art from the mp3 itself?[Image: rock.gif] I have tagged all my music with Tag&Rename which downloads the album art from amazon.com and embedds it into the mp3.

Let me know if I should just let it be......

agerdin it just looks for these files Folder.jpg/png default.jpg/png ("folder" not the folder name, the actual word folder). the mp3 tag reader i use doesnt have the ability to read images from the mp3 files themselves, i wasnt even aware you could do this.

hi reven, funny filenames:

i know, that the files have mp3-info, since i looked them up using iTunes. is there any possibility to get them displayed?
then, another question: i had a problem with a file with strange characters, unfortunately i don't know, which file it was....could you have a look at those characters? maybe it is the same problem as in my myVideo-Post.

the plugin is really hot, so don't misunderstand this as a criticism, just asking....

then: would it be possible to not have the files displayed like they are managed on the harddrive, but like itunes does, e.g. sorted by genre, album, artist? i have the problem, that itunes stores the files this way: artist/album/tracks... which means, that robbie williams - swing when you're winning for example gets displayed in five folders, since the artist sometimes changes...

means, that i have no possibility of sorting by album. it would be nice to have the files listed like myhtpc did and meedio does now. since the files are stored in a database, it shouldn't be hard.

just an idea, i don't know, if other users would like this behaviour, but to me it seems quite useful, since itunes, mediaplayer and other programs do the same.

thanks and keep it up!

Itunes doesn't seem to quite correctly update mp3 tags inside files.

look at the files using the tool eags_on and you'll see that the tags are often actually incorrect.

I can't remember if itunes uses version 1 or version 2 of the mp3 tags to display the track details , but I'm fairly sure reven uses version 1 tags for his plugin

eags_on is an excellent mp3 tag editor allowing you to bulk change tags or generate tags from fields in the filename or lookup freedb for the tags

it generate both version 1 and 2 tags

download Eags On here

hope this helps

I had the 00 problem, MyMusic does not like the iTunes tag info.

I rip via EAC/LAME any how and that works fine. Just Add the Folder to iTunes.

I actually prefer the way MyMusic works as you can structure the Files anyhow you like and also drill down any way you want AND have customised File/Folder layouts for EACH item.

iTunes compliments it by treating them in its own manner.

So effectively I use iTunes as the info for playlists etc but MyMusic via TV for playing.

I have spent a lot of time trying to understand the File/Folders between the two and also how playlists work;.

Do you know where iTunes stores its Playlist files?

Cheers

itunes is crap. there i said it, it is, its pure crap. anything from apple is always crap (look at quicktime). it doesnt do the id3 tags very well. and my music uses a tag reader thats actually is better than the one used in winamp (it works with id3 tags upto v2.24 (or around there)). i dont read the tag information from the itunes files, theres far to much information in those files, they went over board, and did a real poor job of xml schema.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]then, another question: i had a problem with a file with strange characters, unfortunately i don't know, which file it was....could you have a look at those characters? maybe it is the same problem as in my myVideo-Post.
nope the error was something unique to my videos; without the filename i cant do much.

nope. my advice stop using itunes.

its actually a #### of a lot of work.

itunes stores the playlists in a xml file (err unless you need to export this to a xml file). in this file, there are multiple playlists, listing every single file you have in your collection and all their tag information. compared to a m3u file where it just lists the files in the playlists, and the tag info is stored in the file header.

i just really really really hate itunes. Tongue and quicktime, why do so many websites use quicktime? its crap. sorry for the rant, i just really really hate it Tongue

ok, thanks, i will try managing the music in another manner. does anyone know a program, which can do that for me? it would be a lot of work, doing this by hand.... what i need is album -> tracks.

concerning the mp3-info: i will try Eags, thanks for the advice. and i will search for the broken filename...

by the way: i know, itunes isn't really good, but my girlfriend has an emac and i can't convince her to use another program. so i must look how to get the music managed on my mobile harddrive....

i recommend using CDex (its free) for ripping music in the future (or my music has an inbuilt one, dbpoweramp) which can create the correct folder structure eg \my music\artist\album\artist - tracknumber - songtitle.mp3

thats the best way to store music files, nice easy structure.   also cdex looks up the info on freedb.org and writes a correct file header.  then just import them with itunes to store on a portable device (i just use a pocket pc).  media player 10 is quite good, not sure if it can convert cds to mp3s thou (i know it does wma), and the playlists are pretty simple and can be read with my music.

you could try media tagger, its a free program you can find on download.com, and check if the tags are there but stored in a funny way, its the best tagger ive come across, it maybe able to do batch tagging, so just run it on the directories to fix the headers.
