The analog side of this device wont work (lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder), but the digital side should work. If you run filtercheck.exe utility from the gbpvr directory, and attach the filtercheck.log it creates, then I'll give you the section you need to add to bda.ini.

Try adding this to your BDA.ini file. You should then be able to setup a digital capture source for it.

[ATI AIW DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=ATI BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=ATI AVStream BDA Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT= BDA MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=Input0
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Output1

Many thanks for the ATI config - I'm making progress but not there yet! Now the scan does not find any channels.

The frequency list for the 6 muxes looks correct (Divis, N. Ireland), signal strength & quality are fine on 5 of the 6 muxes and I can tune successfully with other apps.
I tried adjusting BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds & BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds in case it was a timing issue - no effect.
Tried ignoring CRC errors - no effect.
Tried setting the BDA Multiplexer to ATI Mpeg Mux, Cyberlink and Microsoft DVR-MS - no effect.

I've done multiple scans and only once were any channels found (a portion of the BBC channels on the first mux).

I've attached some logs including PSI logs of a scan with no channels found and the one when 4 channels were found. Can you suggest anything else that I might try?

To be honest, I'm not really sure. It looks like there is indication of the signal locking but the device never delivers any valid data.

A similar thing happens to me when I try to scan channels on a Compro T300, GBPVR tells me that it has not found any channels. Sometimes if it gets a lock, it repeats the same channels on all of the subsequent MUXes but doesn't find any more channels.

I don't know if this will help, but my workaround was to split the BDA\Dvb-T xxxx.INI file for my transmitter up into six copies - one for each MUX, removing all but one of the lines in the MUX list, and renaming line "2=.." into something meaningful eg

[TERTYPE]
1=Borders and Northern England
2=Winter Hill (Mux1) <--change this to something different in each copy so it shows up in the dropdown list of transmitters

The name of the .ini file is unimportant - but remember to backup the original.

Each MUX was scanned one by one, and assigned to the EPG list. Changing the transmitter doesn't erase any previous channel assignments.

It is a lengthy process for me, and pretty hit-and-miss - as my tuner takes several tries and a lot of fiddling with the frequencies before it will find anything.

The Compro software works fine with the tuner. Weird. I wouldn't think for one minute that some manufacturers might make it difficult to use 3rd party software with their cards.. Rolleyes

Thanks for the suggestion, Clayt_d, I'll give that a try when I have time.

I did try manually creating a SCAN_1.cache file with the channels from one mux in it (as the Config program doesn't tune the card) and with that I can use GBPVR to watch Live TV but it's a bit flaky and refuses to record so not really a solution.

I've had widely differing experiences with 3rd party software. ProgDVB, DVB Dream and ScanChannelsBDA (a little utility just to scan for channels) all seem to work but Got All Media won't open the tuner at all and GBPVR opens it but can't tune any channels.

GB-PVR just treats all BDA devices the same. Its annoying that a small number of device manufacturer's devices have quirks that mean they dont behave exactly as other devices. This is a good reason for people to stick with common well supported cards like the Hauppauge ones - at least you know the app will accommodate any quirks they have.
