I can't get video or live TV to playback properly on my PC. All works fine through the MVP and my TV. Videos play fine using Windows Media Player on the PC. I have tried all combinations of video decoders and VMR9/7/overlay with about the same results with all.

The video plays and I have sound but the screen is severly distorted/stretched. When I shrink the size of the GBPVR window significantly, the picture looks better but it only looks like I'm seeing about 10% of the whole screen. I think that 10% is getting stretched when the screen is bigger.

I have a pvr250 and dell flat panel monitor.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming the problem is that the picture gets stretch sideways (ala 16:9 ratio but extends past the viewable area which is 4:3)? If it is, when watching Live TV and this happens, exit live TV to go back to the main menu, then try Live TV again. If the problem is still there, try that once more, and if that doesn't work, try restarting GBPVR.

I find that sometimes I get a stretched screen when watching Live TV (most of the time (when it happens) watching Live TV after watching a recording, but sometimes starting GBPVR right off the bat) but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with me choosing to view DVD playback as Wide instead of Letterbox on my regular TV (I find if I choose Wide instead of Letterbox, I can see more of the picture).

I tried your suggestions, but nothing worked. I can still only see about 10% of the screen and when I make it bigger, it just stretches that 10%.

Anybody else have any ideas? Thanks.

Its most likely cause by the video decoder that is being used. Try selecting a different one on the playback tab.

It could also be being caused by FFDSHOW or DScaler if these are installed.
