Was running v1.0.16 for many many months without any problems. Probably the most stable version I've ever run. :-) MVP would never spontaneously reboot, recordings would always happen.

But then I upgraded to v1.2.9 last week. And the problems started.

MVP hangs/reboots in the middle of shows.

Recordings abort part way through so that I only have partial episodes.

Some new recordings consistently cause the MVP to crash when I try to view them.

It's hockey playoffs, and I can't risk any more lost shows.

What's the "cleanest" way to roll back to the previous version? I still have the old installer, plus I made a zip of the /gbpvr directory before I upgraded.

Will a restore of the old /gbpvr directory do the trick? Or do I need to run the installers/uninstallers?

Any tips would help. Thanks!

I'd run the install and then copy down the config.xml and database.

Though I've had no problems with the upgrade.

I have found the cleanest re-install method is to backup your current config.xml and *.db3 files. Uninstall current version, delete program files\devnz\ directory and subs, re-install desired version, restore config.xml and *.db3 files. I'm thinking of downgrading myself... Sad

Other than some difficulties some users have had installing the application, I'm not aware of any significant issues with this release. There has been alot of bugs fixed in the most recent release, and I would have said it is easily the most reliable release we've had. That said, after every release there is always three or four people that swear the last release was better...

Rather than downgrading to old versions you'd be better off posting your logs and a description of your problem so we can try to work through your issue.

I'd like to work through the issues on this release, but it's messed up 6(!) recordings already, and my wife is going nuts!

So I'm going to roll-back and, once playoffs are over and I have the luxury of time, I'll take another whack at getting the newest version working reliably.

If I were you I'd fix it now like sub suggested, I can't see how this new version is impacting the mvp.

Sadly, if my "Sens" don't start playing hockey tonight, my free time starts way too early.

It's not just the MVP barfing part way through playback.

Many (4 so far) of the recordings have just stopped being recorded part way through (some in as little as 2 seconds into the recording).

Basically, I can't trust it.

I've now rolled back to 1.0.16. Seems to working fine. I'll find out for sure with the Senators game tonight Smile
