Just upgraded from previous version and horked everything. Error I got was:
Please reboot and rerun config.exe to insure database is correctly updated (previous database update attempt failed). This was an endless loop with each reboot. I installed the new Vcredist before attempting the update. I attempted repair installs and uninstalled new version, reinstalled old and attempted update but always got the same error. The old version was totally wrecked after a couple attempts so I wiped everything and started fresh with the new version and got it working but the digital scan didn't find any of the clear qam channels I get only the encrypted and the music channels. I got my clear qam working by using wizbda channel migration tool and replacing the scan cache's with the ones from previous install.

The reason this happened to some users was found yesterday, and a patch posted here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=10

I also sneakily retrofitted it back into the main installer so any users downloading it in future wouldnt strike the problem.

I didnt get any reports of that from the pre-release testers using clear qam, but I'll keep an eye out for any future reports.

The channel scan is a big problem for me, I'm on comcast cable and they move channels around on a regular basis so the mappings I have only have a limited life.

Do a scan, then post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll see if anything stands out.

Here's a copy of my logs, rescan came up the same. I guess worst case I'll have to keep a copy of XP with a copy of the last version of GBPVR on a partition to run scans from. I want to make the switch to Win 7 64 bit so I can use more ram.

Your logs show it finding several unencrypted QAM channels:

Those channels are all music channels which I mentioned in my first post work. Digital tv channels are in the 98-99 range and a couple oddball numbers. In the scans I did I only found 3 of the clear qam channels I get on 1 of my tuners and could only get it to tune to 2 of them to map. The second tuner never found any. I have all 23 of my qam channels working by using the wizbda tool but like I said I'm on comcast and the channels are moved on a regular basis.

edit: Just to be clear this is all being done on my original XP sp3 install which I've always had GBPVR working.

Does it help if you change the following settings in config.xml to the values 5 and 25? Note that scanning will take a little longer.

Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>5</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
  <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>25</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

Made the suggested changes and did see more familiar numbers being found but had total lockups in 2 attempts when the scan reached 80 of 139.

Rescanned this morning with the suggested settings and found all my qam channels, thanks whurlston. I thought it was locking up last night at 80 of 139 but it actually just hangs for extended periods when it hits a channel with something on it. Next step will be to install Win 7 and see if I can get it working with it.
