Redeye serial changing NTL

just fixed this with some messing about..

set .exe channel changer to :

redeye2.exe and parameters -COM=1 ,0{channel}

this removes the problem i found changing from 511 to 101 (sky sports to bbc1!) which i think was caused due to the 1 at the end of first channel, then 1 at the start of the next. works 100% of the time now (so far...)

I have one on order for my Sky box as I was getting odd problems like a repeating last digit being picked up - the timings seem to be locked with the PVR150 blaster.

Your fix for the NTL box would select a radio channel on my sky box (leading 0).

Well, what a surprise. I gave this a try and my success rate on chanel changes on the NTL box is now up around 99%. Cheers

I have had to use a preprocessor to make mine work reliably on my Sky box.
The last digit was often missing, so I now call redeye2.exe three times with individual digits and it works fine.

99%? i'll keep working on it then....let me know which channels are a problem as i have 100%!!

now don't ask my why, but since rebuilding (to xp) as i have a different m/b, the above no longer works for me at all! (com ports settings as previous)

what does work is -ch={channel} which seems 100% so far...

Forgive me if I've got the wrong end of the stick here, but I wonder if you have the redeye.exe changer rather than the redeye2.exe changer? The second one allows arbitrary strings to be sent. The spec here gives definitions of the possible characters and their functions.
This is a problem that I've been struggling with for a couple of years now. Out of interest, which set top box do you have? I've got the silver samsung SMT-2100C

yes, redeye2.exe and SMT-2100c.

try -COM=1 ,0{channel}
or -ch={channel} for the channel changer settings - but don't ask me why moving from XP to vista required the above change! (and i don't really care so long as i got a fix)
