hello,

when opening the PVRX2, the window opens, but remains empty.

I reinstalled the new version of GB-PVR (1.2.13);
I also tried to reinstall .NET framework. I installed version 3.5
I also tried to change the skin from blue to comunity
...but the problem remains.

Searching the logs, I found this message into pvrx2.exe-native.log :
2008-06-05 16:30:45.515 ERROR m_pD3DDev->CreateTexture(uiElement->image->Width, uiElement->image->Height, 1, 0, D3DFMT_A8R8G8B8, D3DPOOL_MANAGED, &texture, NULL) failed
Error code : 8876086C
D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Invalid call

Previously, I saw a message in another log about missing image files, but this error does not appear anymore.

I guess the problem came after installing a new release of Logitech Harmony remote control. Is this a compatibilty problem?

If you have any idea, please help!

thanks
vincent

hello,

me again

today I uninstalled , rebooted and re-installed the GB-PVR into a new directory.
Still the same problem: the window opens, but is limited to the title bar, resize buttons and borders.
I still see the error message in the log file:
2008-06-06 19:11:23.781 VERBOSE SetRenderList creating new texture (720 x 480)
2008-06-06 19:11:23.781 ERROR m_pD3DDev->CreateTexture(uiElement->image->Width, uiElement->image->Height, 1, 0, D3DFMT_A8R8G8B8, D3DPOOL_MANAGED, &texture, NULL) failed
Error code : 8876086C
D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Invalid call

the config window does appear correctly..

Can anyone help?
I recently changed my TV. Is this related?

thanks
Vincent

If you see the min/max/resize buttons, then you need to deselect Show in Windowed mode on the first panel of the Config screen.

Either way, if you do not see a picture while playing back recorded mpegs, it indicates you don't have a mpeg codec installed, or it is not jiving with your system, or just not configured correctly

Thanks for your reply,

in the meanwhile,I've found the solution

I updated the driver of my video card. I don't understand why this changed, maybe when I plugged in my new screen...

The problem was not on playing recorded videos, but simply on displaying the application itself (menus, etc). I don't understand why only GB-PVR seemed to be affected. All other applications work well...

well, problem solved anyway...

Thanks

This was a common problem for people with old videocards that werent up to the task.

Some Geforce MX card owners also go this, and found that updating the videocard drivers helped. Maybe you also have one of these cards?
