I looked into the dvdshrink stealing the foreground and I don't think I can do much about it. I use an autoit script to automate dvdshrink and the window has to be active to let autoit automate it. The only thing I might be able to do is pop PVRX2 to the foreground after each dvdshrink operation.
I'll give that a shot.

I could use a PAL encoded MPG to test out the commercial cut code. If anyone can host a 10 minute or so file let me know.

I think I have this working now, but you can't really do much on the PVR while this is running because autohotkey writes values to the dvdshrink gui occasionally and if you are playing with the keyboard you can screw it up. It's probably best left alone while it is running a shrink.

Still need a PAL file to verify what is going on with comtrim since it seems to work ok for NTSC.

I have run some tests with the new beta version and note the following:

DVDshrink steals focus and always pops up in front of gbprvr.

If i set it to comskip to cut and set the cuts with the skip tool then i end up with only half a film. always 52mins??? :-(

With comskip off and no use of skip tool then i get the full movie on DVD everything as expected :-)

With comskip set to chapters i get full DVD plus chapter skipping to end of each ad break as expected. :-)

I have seen a couple a errors with cannot find video ts file but click ok and it continues.

I couldn't get the sms mode to work with my Hauppauge 45 button remote, but i haven't figured how to make that work anywhere in GBPVR, so thats probably my fault.

all other option buttons seem to work and function as expected.

I'm no programming expert and i wouldn't say that this was an exhaustive scentific test but aside from the the first two points and a couple of read errors for the video file this version will help those who are now using digital streams and are not easily able to change the size of incoming MPEG files. So thanks for making this plugin.

If you want to see any log files then let me know which one and where and i shall post here.
Were you running 16:9 or 4:3? I just ran a comtrim on a 4:3 and it worked ok. There are different command files for 16:9 so let me know and I'll look at those.

sorry if this is a silly question....

I'm wanting to burn the ts files to a dvd so I can carry it 4 metres, put it in the dvd player and watch it on TV. (currently the computer and TV are separate and will stay that way for a while).
I know that ts files will need to be converted to "some other" format before the dvd player will play them.

Does burndvdx2 handle this, or is it primarily for mpegs. If it does not can someone recommend an application that allows me to convert the ts file so that I can burn it to a dvd.

No, burnxdvdx2 can't do the conversion for you. If your .ts files are HD, you can try HDTV2DVD which will downscale the HD resolution to 720x480 and burn a DVD all in one step. It's not perfect because I've found files that it will fail with, but when it works, it works well. There's an equivalent HDTVtoMPEG program too if you just want an MPEG file.

Alternatively there's ffmpeg and mencoder that can convert .ts files to DVD-compatible mpeg format and then you can burn with burnxdvdx2 or imageburn, etc. The programs can do so much and have so many options it can be intimidating getting started, but there's tons of info on the web about them.

Wtg is right. I tried to get .ts files working but couldn't get it to work correctly with the sharpffmpeg libraries so I shelved it for the time being.

I am having the same issue & cannot figure out how to fix it. I attached my log file. Thanks for any help with this.

WizUiHelper.dll version 1.0.15.0 or newer
CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll 3.0.2822.33715 or newer

the locations I've found on this site aren't these versions.

The problem is the following exception:
Code:
2008-07-08 21:42:17.781    VERBOSE    [1]    BurnDVDX2 Activate System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at BurnDVD.BurnDVDX2Plugin.readinifile()
   at BurnDVD.BurnDVDX2Plugin.Activate()
2008-07-08 21:42:17.781    VERBOSE    [1]    BurnDVDX2    at BurnDVD.BurnDVDX2Plugin.readinifile()
   at BurnDVD.BurnDVDX2Plugin.Activate()
Looks like there may be some problem with the .INI file. I would first switch back to the Blue Skin and see if the problem goes away.

Also, you can get the current versions of the DLLs here:
