PVRX2 crashes when i try to pause HD TV. The SD stuff pauses fine.

Attached are my logs.

Hopefully someone here can help, I'm pretty sure I'm out of ideas...

I'd try removing the ffdshow post processing to see if its the cause.

I unchecked the "use FFDSHOW post processing..." box and switched the H64 decoder to system default. Still crashed when I hit pause.

Next I put pvrx2.exe on the black list within FFDSHOW config, and installed AC3 Filter and set the MPEG2 audio decoder to AC3 Filter (this worked well on my system with XP, before I upgraded to vista). Still crashed.

Next, I tried setting all the decoders (MPEG2, etc) to system default. Now it does not crash when I hit pause, but the video is pretty aweful. When I say it did not crash, I mean when I hit pause it did not crash. It did however crash when I channel surfed from a digital channel to an anolog one. This has been going on for a while now too, I've figured it's related to the 'crash when pausing' problem, and that if I solved one I would solve the other. But I'm really just guessing; this stuff is more or less over my head.

I've attached the logs from my last attempt, but I'm starting to think seriously about just going back to XP.

This is at least enough to show us that a significant part of your problem does just relate to the directshow decoders you're using. You've found set of decoders that work, but dont look great - all can really suggest is trying other decoders (and possible video renderer) to find a combination that works well and looks good.

The digital->analog crash may be unrelated. Reproduce this and zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
