As discussed in several other posts,
ctrl-o no longer brings up the signal strength/quality meter.

I really liked having the Signal strength meter, and now that the
original "Old friend" GBPVR exe is retired, it is no longer an option.
It worked well for me using either of my avermedia ATSC / BDA HDTV tuners.

The posts I saw mentioned that it's not implemented "yet" (as of Jan 2008),
in pvrx2.exe
Is there a plan to restore this feature sometime?

Sorry, no ETA at this stage, but I do intend to add the feature back in.

It was always a bit useless though, since there was no way of knowing the range of numbers that a device would use for reporting its signal strength, so only ever worked with the small percentage of cards that reported the range 0-100. Some card use -64000-0, or -4000-100 etc.

A vote from me on this one too, thanks.
I only came across ctrl-o a couple of days ago... and was keen to try to monitor the signal regularly to see if mine varies.

When all that rain hit wed/thurs last week I'd recorded some things, but on playback I get quite jerky video. Next time it's crappy I'd like to be able to check signal...
Anyone know of any tools on the net that work with an hvr2200? (Couldn't find any hauppauge tools...)

You could have a look in the logs. GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log has stuff like this in.
Quote:2008-09-06 12:13:36.062 VERBOSE checking signal stats took total: 79ms (1,1,65,100).....(,0,0,0)
2008-09-06 12:14:06.250 VERBOSE checking signal stats took total: 62ms (1,1,65,100).....(,0,0,0)
2008-09-06 12:14:36.406 VERBOSE checking signal stats took total: 78ms (1,1,65,100).....(,0,0,0)
2008-09-06 12:15:06.546 VERBOSE checking signal stats took total: 78ms (1,1,65,100).....(,0,0,0)
2008-09-06 12:15:36.718 VERBOSE checking signal stats took total: 63ms (1,1,65,100).....(,0,0,0)
I think the 65,100 is "strength" an "quality"
