I haven't used my PVR system for a while, and when I tried to use it the PVRX2 screen wouldn't open, so I tried to upgrade in case that fixed it. PVRX2 still wont open (the outline of the screen comes up and just hangs, but it isn't frozen because it closes instantly if I click the x and task manager says it is using a lot of ram but no CPU). But now when I try to start the config I get a .NET error and I can quit or continue but if I continue all the fields in the config screen are blank. I checked the forums for key words, but the only thing I found that was similar is the skin directory being missing and I do have a skin directory. Logs are attached, I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Set the logging level back to 'debug' and reenable log flushing, then reproduce the problem and repost the logs and I'll take a look.

I wish I could, but I can't set the logging level without being able to open the config file. Unless you have a manual way to edit the config file to get this done?

Edit the config.xml to set:

<LoggingLevel>Debug</LoggingLevel>
<LoggingForceFlush>true</LoggingForceFlush>

I did that, I'm not sure that it took effect when I closed PVRX2 and reopened it though.

There is a few errors listed in there. I think its related to plugins, so I'd temporarily try moving everything out of your plugins directory.

There is one other error in there that makes me think it'd be worth rebooting.

If its still not going after these steps, then post the logs and again I'll take a look at what errors are still in the logs.

OK, so I removed all my plugins into a new directory. I don't use most of them anymore anyway, so I'll start fresh and download new plugins as I need them.

While I was waiting I went to Windows update and low and behold there's a new version of .Net framework out (I haven't used GBPVR in about 6 months, and probably haven't updated my system in that time). I should have thought of that first. It installed, then I restarted.

The same thing is still happening for both PVRX2 and config. So I attached the logs again. Thanks for all your help.

It looks like one of the normally present skin files isnt on your machine:
Quote:2008-09-24 12:55:50.812 VERBOSE [1] System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\skin2\blue\TV Guide\skin.xml'.

Do you have the skin2 directory?

You might be best to uninstall, delete the gbpvr directory, then reinstall.

I installed a fresh copy to another machine, copied the skin and skin2 directories over, and deleted that copy. I lean away from a fresh install because I remember having a lot of problems getting this working the first time, but that may be my best option. Anyway, the skin directories fixed the config system so now I can get into config. I disabled the MVP section since I'm not using that now and checked everything else for obvious problems. Then I tried PVRX2 again and I'm still getting the same blank screen. I've attached my logs again, if you don't see a problem this time I'll just reinstall fresh and see if that helps. Thanks.
