Another temporary workaround for this bug is to just turn off pre-padding altogether for now. Hopefully this one will get fixed quick.

Yesterday I started working on maintenance release. It'll be released in a few days, and will include fixes for some problems identified in the v0.91 release. I hope to include a fix for this problem.

AOSandman, are you interested in trying a pre-release to confirm your bug is fixed?

For future reference folks, dont bump posts. I've read your problem, and if I have anything to say on the subject I would have responded.

I'm actually less likely to fix a bug if you keep bumping your post....

Sweet!  Yeah, I'd be happy to test a pre-release.  It's an easy problem to reproduce.

Sorry for bumping the post. First & last time for that...

Is it technically possible to overlap two back to back shows on the same channel? i.e If show from 7- 7.30 had 5 mins padding either side, and show from 7.30 - 8 also had 5 mins padding, both on Channel 1, then would it be possible to write to two files simulataneously for the duration of the overlap?

Could be a nice feature if possible.

If I understand your question correctly, and you have at least 2 capture cards, this is already possible, as I do it all the time. So in your example, there would be a 10 minute period of recording the same thing, from 07:25 - 07:35.

I use this method all the time, since I archive most of what I record, and do NOT want to miss even the first minute of the show(s).

Hi RockSteady,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that's not what I meant. I have only one PVR350 as my sole capture card. I was wondering if it's technically possible (i.e for Sub to implement in the current GBPVR architecture) to open a second file for writing to get the desired overlap when you are recording from the same channel. i.e why do you need two cards to write the same input stream to disk?

No its not technically possible. There are timestamps embedded with in the MPEG2 stream.
