I too appear to have this problem - never put it down to filesize but it could well be. I've only noticed it on TV3 recordings here in NZ at the 54 minute mark (give or take a minute - can't remember the EXACT time) - I put it down to something with the Interlacing on TV3 or something causing issues but TV3 hour long shows are bigger recordings than the other channels as they are 1080i where everything else it 720p or less. I've found I can still skip through the adds by hammering the skip buttons as it seems to skip a few seconds rather than a minute but I get through.

Yep, you've (lost@c and mobiusnz) got exactly the same problem as me, your symptoms are identical.

I'm pretty sure it's the 4GB point in the file that does it. On every recording, when I divide the file size by the length in minutes, and then multiply by the minute mark where the problem occurs, I come up with something very close to 4GB every time. The effect seems to repeat at the 8GB mark, only worse.

Sub please fix, I'll send money for pints at your GB-PVR drink night next month Wink

I'll look into it when I'm back in NZ in December.

Yup - I thought it was only Tv3 but I just checked and a recording of Private Practice from TV2 did it aswell - we just wouldn't normally have noticed as the program had finished so we would normally have exited but when I played past the end into the buffer overlap time it did that same thing - its just it was at around 65 minutes roughtly. So it would appear the 4GB mark is a good place to start looking for the "bug/quirk".

Thanks sub, we know you're away on business and can't do any dev work. It's nice to know you're still following things, popping in when you can.

@stustunz, if you mean the problem occurs for you about 65% into a 6.5GB file, then that's about 4GB again. Gentlemen, we have a pattern.

I wish it only affected movies here... most ATSC HD streams get to 4GB in about 40 minutes, and some get there not much after 25 minutes. I test recorded a 3 hour movie a few weeks back, and the resulting .ts file was 26GB!

The time bar goes haywire for me at around 50mins of playback. I ended up watching my recordings with Window Media Player.

The build-in TS reader had always been problematic for me and in 1.2.13 I had to turn it off to get it working. However turning it off in 1.3.7 didn't help at all.

I've since reinstalled 1.2.13.

What reads the file then if you turn off the TS reader?
