I know I must be doing something wrong but I just can't workout what. I have used the installer for my PCH A110 and all seems to be well and I am able to browse to my share on the Vista PC running GB-PVR.

I am presented with a blue PCH screen with Start and four icons (reel, note, camera and page with play symbol). I select the page with play symbol and I get to a new page.

The new page has a single item which is GB-PVR.html which I select. The screen goes blue with a white box and three selections (GB-PVR, GB-PVR via Network Browser, GB-PVR via USB). Whichever I select (although I normally go for GB-PVR) I get a new screen with "Request cannot be processed" Press Return key to return to the previous screen.

So what have I done wrong?

GB-PVR 1.3.7
Vista 32 bit ultimate
Vista PC part of Windows 2003 AD domain
PCH with latest firmware and HDD

Many thanks

Can you find your Vista mvpmc share through the NMT Network Browser menus?

No I can't. I can see another Samba device that is running on my network but none of the other Vista machines or Windows 2003 server.

The way I connected was to add a network share in the form smb://192.168.10.2/mvpmc and use local username and password.

Ok so i used the installer for MVPMC and after it installed i went to check if everything went through ok

I was able to bring up GBPVR on my Popcornhour. I decided i wanted to use the default blue skin and changed it throught the Popcornhour.

I then exited GBPVR on the PCH and tried and added a media share so i could have direct access, after i did that i was not able to access GBPVR anymore, i just got the cannot process message. I am able to access the share folder and see the HTML file, and when i click on it i get the 3 options, but once i select anything i get the request can not be processed message

attached logs

The fundemental problem is the requirement for a guest share in the Network Browser and install process.

If you went to have a username and password you have to manually modify the gbpvr.cgi script using a good linux editor as suggested in the survival guide and

change -o username=root,rw to -o username=xxx, password=xxx and change the rw to ro if appropriate.

Did you modify the name of the share on the PCH from hostname:mvpmc If so, you you need to modify gbpvr.cgi and if not modify the ,rw to ,ro

Thanks

I'll give that a try also wanted to know how to enable either the default blue skin or new slick skin instead of mayem3

Edit:Nevermind i figured it out that there is an option for this under the NMT tab

Thanks for the help

That's in the GBPVR config program. On the MVP/NMT tab you can select the skin for the NMT.

I tried your suggestion about the username and password line and again I got the same error.

I have done some Googling and found an entry on creating a Telnet Daemon so that I can access the PCH. When I do this and connect via telnet then follow the lines in the CGI script I don't get any errors on mounting with the original syntax using root.

Any ideas why I can do this via the PCH console but not through the CGI script on the share?

The only difference I can think of is that you used a non-linux format editor. If you zip and upload your gbpvr.cgi file (change password at your discretion) I will have a look.
