Been running PCH firmware 080612 with GBPVR 1.3.7 for some time using the "mvpmcx2 Installation and Survival Guide for the NMT"

Tried all weekend to update to firmware 080812, along with "Dummies guide to installing mvpmc2". I can browse the network but can't get GBPVR running reliably. Usually, when I select GBPVR, the screen shows alternating tv-no-signal-screen and a solid colored screen. GBPVR occasionally pops up after returning to PCH screens.

I've tried PCH re-booting/reflashing and reset all the setup options. I haven't edited anything in my "C:\mvpmc" shared directory.

mvpmc and log files are not attached because of a bulletin board problem-
"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing."

Thank-you for your help

Without the logs it is tough. I would guess because of the timeout that you are having firewall troubles. The other thing to do is with the new scripts if you don't change startmeup, you must set the monitor type.

Also there should not a need to reflash your PCH to correct problems especially if you can browse shares.

Managed to send the GBPVR logs files.

I'll try with no firewalls, though I connect to the PCH via a switch and don't run the XP firewall (use a different software firewall).

I did figure something out on my own that I haven't seen on any board. I kept loosing by HDMI 5.1 AC3 sound after PCH firmware changes. Turning the TV off then on gets it back.

Turned off the software firewall, still no GBPVR.
My startmeup has the monitor type set.

It isn't the firewall you are connecting (although you do have a Windows error on you networking)

I would suggest changing to the Blue skin and if the doesn't help, change your config.xml screen settings to 1280,720,0,0.

Blue skin made no difference; config.xml set at 1280,720,0,0

At some point this afternoon, I lost network browsing (no workgroup found).

I am giving up for the day - I have things to watch on the PCH. Back to the old firmware.

I'm not sure if it will help but in this thread about the same error you are seeing http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?p=230153 One solution given was to enable Netbios under TCPIP

Netbios under TCPIP was enabled

Just tried to install the new music plugin - it crashed my GBPVR installation. I'll get back to PCH things later.

Did you make sure startup.cgi has it set to match your resolution?

If you mean startmeup, I have:
/etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -m 720 &
