Black screen after 5 or so playback 1.3.7

It seems that after playing about 5 shows very nicely, the next one has a black screen only, but does have sound. Skipping within the file does not bring the video back, nor does exiting the show and trying again. It seems only exiting PVRX2 and restarting it brings the video back.
On a separate note, it seems that when PVRX2 exits it does not seem to clear the screen and show the desktop, but rather needs me to hit the show desktop icon.
It may be a problem with my database, but doing the procedure I outlined here http://forums.gbpvr.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=7 fixed my resume problem and so I thought it would have fixed this problem too.

Its most likely to do with one of the decoders you're using. Try selecting different ones to see if helps.

This is a known problem on XP with the VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive renderer.

I don't recall having this problem before, and I don't recall having changed the decoder in the config program.
One other observation, which may or may not help, is that the couple of times I have let a file go all the way to the end, when the end of the file is reached PVRX2 no longer goes back to the menu, but leaves up the last frame.
I have a Hauppauge 150 and I think it is using the Non-CSS decoder.
Any other thoughts? I will double check and try some things when I get home.

No. Certain decoders have had this problems in the past, so I can only guess this is what the cause is this time. Try another decoder.
