'locked' tuner card 1.3.11

Hi,

not sure if anyone else is having the following problem.

i currently have 2 tuner cards in pc. a pvr150 analogue card and a HVR4000 dvb-s and dvb-t combo.

ive just realised (after several very frustrating days ..) under v1.3.11 that if i switch live tv to prime tv (which uses PVR150) - then to a sat channel (say tvnz6) that all works ok - but if i then try to switch back to prime tv - i get a blank screen , that never comes back to the channel.

I can at at that stage hit exist and go back to the main menu. if i choose live tv again at that stage - then primetv will work again - until i switch to a channel off the sat card.

i have now had to revert back to v1.2.13 as the version prior to v.1.3.11 i believe also has this issue.

i rebuilt my pc from scratch several times trying to figure out what the problem was - but the minute i went back to v1.2.13 it all works perfectly.

I also noticed when in v1.3.11 if i pushed the 'text' button that shows the stream pids etc -it would exit me back to the main menu if i was watching a channel on the pvr150... it would show the pids ok if i was using the sat card however.

just in case its something to do with the OS - im running windows xp pro SP3.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I spotted this myself a couple of days ago. I've attached a patch that'll correct it. I'm fairly sure this same thing would have happened in previous versions of the app too - it related to older code, not stuff new to 1.3.11. (definitely in 1.3.7 too, maybe even earlier)

I see this minor problem too, switching from a digital to an analog channel in livetv give me a black screen and no sound. Escaping to main menu and back to livetv and all is ok. Switching from analog to digital channel is ok.

I did not see this in v1.3.7

My logs are attached if that can help.

Sorry, your logs are full of all sorts of crap making them impossible to follow. Can you restart the app, reproduce the problem with as few steps as possible, then repost the logs?

Have you tried with a decoder other than 'MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)'?

Only happens when using TS Mux, Full TS works fine. (Or DVR-MS)

It shouldnt make any difference what mux you have selected. If you're using Live Preview mode no mux is used. A mux is only used when you're recording to disk. If you're sure, then post two sets of logs show TS Mux and the DVR-MS, and I'll take a look.

Sorry i have reverted to the previous version for now - im under threat of a nasty painful death if i play with the media pc for a while.

given that several others have confirmed they have the same problem - im hoping they can provide the required logs.

Just did, same issue. Also note that I have not had this problem in 1.3.7 and I had always used the MPC decfilter with that version. If I get some time I will downgrade to 1.3.7 and test on that version again.

The -1 logs show TS Mux (failure)
The straight logs show TS Full (No issue)

On both tests I ran PVRX2, hit F2 to enter the Live TV (which started on ANalog channel 70). I then changed to channel 222, Digital 22.1. Then I changed back to analog on channel 70. WIth TS Mux I would then only see black and hear no audio. On Full TS it works fine.

With TS Mux if I exit and then re-enter live tv analog works fine again (I did this in the logs).

I have been following this with interest it is exactly the same as an issue I have had since upgradeing to 1.3.11.

In my own defense, at least I'm willing to be wrong, and even if I dont believe someone I'll still look into it.

Try the attached patches and let me know.

i took the rather drastic step of upgrading to 1.3.11 and applying the patch... happy to say it all works well now

since going to v1.3.11 with the fix above- i can no longer to into the capture sure and map epg against digital channels... not sure if its cus i have epg source of xmltv file ... but this has just started since going to 1.3.11...

not a major since all the major channels are mapped - but at the point in time i cannot map any more.
