MVP boot problem - stops at "Contacting Servers"

Thank's for the quick response.

Tried changing to 1 autostart in the config as the only one - still just "Contacting Servers" on the MVP even after restarting everything ...

Well I'm running out of ideas, can you ping the address allocated to the MVP by your DHCP server from your GBPVR box?

ping works just fine.

I'm also pretty frustrated at this point - spent a looong time even before posting here to try all different combinations of configuration etc.

Hopefully someone else has the golden hint...?

Not sure how revant but

a) Have you set Config/Playback/MVPPlayback/NUmber of servers to Autostart to at least 1
b)I had a problem like this and it worked when I stopped the HauppaugeServer because I was having a problem with it.

a) Tried Autostart set to 0, 1, 2 and 3 with and without the manually started GBPVR MediaMVP Server

b) What exactly do you mean "HauupageServer"? The 2 services originally with the Hauppauge software?

Responding to your post above regarding web-interface: I was referring to the web-application through which you can program the GBPVR from a browser anywhere. If you have a permanent Internet connection at home you should definitely try it out!

RE my B point. I meant make sure that NO Hauppauge service is running and then just start the GBPVR server.

To be honest if you can not make it work with a Direct Connect thus ruling out the Network its possible you have a faulty unit. Have you tried completely de-installing Hauppauge and ALL its folders and just reinstalling GBPVR?

That's how I have been running. Just now I even uninstalled the Hauppauge software completely without any change.

This is actually a replacement unit after the one I recieved at christmas was DOA. Took only 2½ month to get a new one... :mad:

It should be allright though since it is running with Hauppauge's original software.

Try 22146 or the one that came with your unit, the hauppauge forum has a lot of bad comments on the latest. I went back to 22146

Thanks for the hint. I'll try to find 22146 somewhere. I'm not shure that is my problem as the version I had was running fine by itself, and uninstalling completely also made no difference.

The only other thing I can think of to try (if you haven't already done so) is to power the MVP off at the mains for a 10 mins or so.
