Ok...below is the following from last nights testing along with the corresponding logs.

One thing....I know for a fact that I was watching data being written for the programmes from 11:29 through 1:30 (went to bed around 1:15). The programme files that were being recorded were being written to.....unfortunately, I did not look to see what they looked like following the end of the recording since I saw the files growing in size....I only actively monitored as they were being written.

It appears that when the recording finished they became 0 byte files somehow?

I set the following shows/frequencies to record:
1622 = ABC
1630 = NBC
(Above two are shared on channel 71)
1624 = CBS
11:29-01:02 - 1630 - 0 Byte (Saturday Night Live)
11:30-12:30 - 1624 -0 Byte (CSI: NY)
11:30-12:30 - 1622 - 0 Byte (Boston Legal)

12:30-1:30 - 1624 - 0 Byte (CSI: Miami)
12:30-1:30 - 1622 - 0 Byte (Desperate Housewives)

1:02-1:32 - 1630 - 0 Byte (Whacked out Sports)

1:30-2:30 - 1624 - 0 Byte (Without A Trace)
1:30-2:00 - 1622 - Recorded ok (Judge Judy)

1:32-2:02 - 1630 - 0 Byte (Pennsylvania Newsmakers)

I am home for the day today so I am going to continue to test to see if I can see something occur at the end of a recording.

An upadate on this.....I loaded the newest HDHR software, reinstalled the HDHR and HDHR Windows BDA drivers and rebooted the host machine (hadn't been done in a month).

I have not yet been able to duplicate the issue. Testing continues.

Interesting.

Do you have a PostProcessing.bat?

I cant think of any reason the built in stuff would do that, but it'd be interesting to see if your transcode job has any relationship to this?

I have the same problem as the original post, that I can record some dvb-s channels using ts-mux and not others but can record all using alternative mux's. I have applied the patches in this thread (from Sub's consolidated patches linked in the survival guide) and reregistered the filters but the channel recording problem has not gone away. Whats worse is that it is now unusable for watching TV as it crashes every 5 mins or so with : PVRX2 has stopped responding blah blah, then a message about helping protect my computer from Data Execution problems pvrx2 was terminated. There is help is about DEP. Can I safely turn this off for all gbpvr progs? Although in the DEP section it is currently set to "on for essential windows programs and services only", my only other option is "on for all programs and services except those I select". Is GBPVR an essential windows program or service?
Also I added the reg key but am not getting anything in C:\temp. I'm running vista64 ultimate, does that make a difference?
I can provide logs if it'll help from either trying to record or when it crashed with the DEP, but I imagine pvrx2 is oblivious as to what it's done wrong re the DEP?

Do you have any of the options ticked in Config -> Capture Source -> Digital Recording Plugin settings -> Advanced BDA Settings?

I dont know, I've never used Vista x64. You might need to set the registry setting in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Devnz\ instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Devnz\

I have "Parse DishNetwork EIT tables (EPG Data)" selected - although I used XMLTV for EPG so have no interest in the broadcast one. I've never changed this though. I've messed about with the PMT CRC ones before when trying to get scans working but they've been left unselected for a good while now.

Thanks for the registry suggestion, that has now produced logs in c:\temp. Logs attached but I'm not convinced something else didn't go wrong. I've had to use BBC4 and not my earlier test of cbeebies as the latter is now off air, but I think BBC4 is effectively the same DVB-S channel.

Ignore all that, getting the reg key right for vista64 and then a reboot it now records BBC4 - although when I press manual record from live TV, it continues to playback but stutters like mad, but going into recordings and watching the pending plays back perfectly. So no idea what I did earlier with the update.
I still get the DEP errors though as a result of the recent fixes so unless that can be solved I'll have to go back and forget the ts-mux for now.

Nope.

Hmmm....I'll have to check on that. Still haven't been able to duplicate since the reboot.....but I have the transcode set to run from 2:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. so it hasn't run yet. The transcode is simply running the .ts file through FFMPEG and putting it in a .mpg container (fixes any time stamp issues so I can skip through the recording when I am watching it).

I'll change it to ASAP and see what happens.

UJB, did you confirm that your channels or PID's haven't changed by doing a new scan? My cableco moves QAM channels every few months.

I haven't rescanned for a while so I did that and all frequencies remained the same as they were.
