Pause / Record Not Working

So I'm new to this software and I'm trying to setup my new HDHomeRun. I have LiveTV working just fine, but when I go to pause the feed it locks up and eventually dumps out to the main menu.

Additionally I can't record programs (manual recording). It will just create a 0 byte file. I assume I'm doing something wrong with codecs and whatnot, but I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Edit: I'm using

Video Decoder "ATI MPEG Video Decoder"
Audio Decoder "MPEG Audio Decoder"
AC3 Decoder "ffdshow Audio Decoder"

Everything else is default. The ffdshow thing I have no idea about, I just downloaded it since other people seem to be using it.

See if running reregisterfilters.bat helps.

Well, that certainly helped. Now when I hit pause it creates a proper video file but i don't understand the program's controls to unpause.

I'll play with it some more - thanks a lot!
