Dear All - please, please help - I'm an idiot and I'm scared and lonely...

I'm completely new to GB-PVR and I'm pulling my hair out trying to get it working. I've run thru the config but when I go to Live Tv I get "Channel Tuning Information Not Known".
I've got a Twinhan DVB-T, I've got Directx 9.0c and the Microsoft runtime 1.1 so I should be good to go. On the capture source it's set up as BDA plugin, under settings the Twinhan DVB-T (not the Twinhan DVB-T Spectrum) is selected and I've set it to what I assume is my nearest transmitter (is there any way to check my exact transmitter?)
Under EPG I've selected Bleb (seeing as it's UK-specific).
The Channel Changer bit is set to "No channel changer required"
I then exited the config, logged back in to it, and updated the EPG. Okay - so everything that the quickstart advises...but when I get to LiveTV is says "Channel Tuning Information Not Known"

Also - when I try to play an MPEG-2 video that I've previously recorded it will only play the first couple of seconds and then freezes - does this all relate to one problem?

I might also add that when I press "Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels" it states that there's no Microsoft MPEG-2 Demultiplexer on the machine and that BDA support won't work without it.

Please, please, please - somebody help me - I was so wildly over-excited to see what this software can do in conjunction with the MediaMVP and now I'm feeling low...sob Sad

How much clearer can the error message be. This is your problem.

You could try the following:
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax

If this doesnt work, try to get the Microsoft MPEG-2 Demultiplexer installed on your machine.

Many thanks for the advice - I registered the mpg2splt.ax and then tried to map the channels but it said that I needed to install the cyberlink/intervideo/showshifter multiplexer filter. I've done this and I'm now able to get to the scanning screen but it immediately comes up with the message 'GB-PVR was unable to starta the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not already in use.'

I have tried installing the Twinhan BDA PCI driver for the card instead of the 'DTV Video Controller' driver but it still comes up with this message - any idea where I should be looking and what might be going wrong?

Did you also install the BDA driver instead of 'DTV Audio Controller'? Both of the old DTV drivers need to be "upgraded" to the BDA drivers.

Wahey - you've made my day! Followed the advice and finally got it up and working. I've then got my MVP successfully up and working - I stopped the MVPMedia and MVPMediasvc thingies and set them to manual as someone advised on the forums and put the 'number of servers' to 1 in the config. I've also downloaded the latest software onto the MVP fine. GB-PVR comes up absolutely fantastic on the tv, tv guide seems to work etc. However, when I go to Live tv it simply goes to the MPV screen, saying 'contacting server' for ever and ever amen. I left it for ten mins but it just kept on going. When I turn it off and on again it is still 'contacting server' for ever. What would be the major cause of something like this? The PC only has 248mb of RAM. Might this be an issue?
Might my wireless-g network connection from router to PC be a problem (the MPV is directly connected to the router)? Any help would be massively, massively appreciated.

Before trying live tv first confirm you're managing to record. You may not have a working mux filter on your machine. Also, I suggest trying the three different mux filter options, you may find one that works better for you than the others.

Displaying live TV on the MVP through the BDA driver support isn't super smooth, and does seem to cause problems for a lot of people. I personally have only tried this once, so I can safely say this combination hasnt had much focused development time. Part of the problems stems from the fact the mux filters write huge chunks of data every second or so rather than a constant stream of data like that produced by the Hauppauge PVR cards. In turn, the MVP doesnt seem to like the way it get supplied the data in 'fits and starts'. (which also might be compounded by your wireless setup)

I've just had a chance to check out the recording function. I scheduled a manual recording. It says the recording went fine but when I go to play it back I see about the first 1-2 seconds and then it cuts out completely. Any idea what the problem is on this? The video decoder used in Configuration is Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder and the BDA Multiplexer is down as SS. Any ideas what would be causing this problem?
