Wondering about DVD player

Does GB-PVR have it's own dvd playback software, or does it use windows software to play a dvd.

It uses either WinDVD's codec or Cyberlinks DVD. Some people have gotten it to work with DScaler 5 as well. So no, it doesn't have it's own software, just uses the codecs from other commercial software.

Not knowing how codecs work, does which ones it's using effect any of the appearance or funtions under GB-PVR?
