problem configuring WinTV 950Q

I can select Direct recording plugin under source for the configuration, however, when I save it, the source type shows as BDA. When I update the EPG, it finds my local stations (Calgary). but it wants Tuning request for each channel (they're blank). Live TV and TV guide result in no response. Config won't allow me to enable the channels (I assume because there are on tuning requests) can I update the tuning request manually and if so how do I find out what value to use?

Hi, have the same problem you have with the LiveTV and TV guide not responding. I already fixed the tv tuner problem, but those two buttons just aren't doing anything, i was wondering if you could tell me how you fixed yours.

No channels have been setup in the config app. Most likely because you didnt do the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step.

Thanks a lot sub, i didn't realize i had to click on the enable box for all the 60 channels (i'm using it for analog tv). My episode guide now works without a hitch, but my tv now doesn't display any video or audio, just a black screen. I checked other posts in which they told people to disable liveTV preview. After doing so, now the live tv section just says that no tuner is available... even though the winTV program works and the Show status option in the tray says that my capture card is sleeping.

also, when liveTV preview was enabled, and i had the show status open, it would tell me which channel i was currently on... but there would be nothing.

oh and when i tried recording something, (as it was mentioned in another post), when the time arrived (with liveTV preview disabled) nothing happend. I went back into the recordings section and, there was no evidence i had ever even setup a manual recording.

anyway, thank you very much for your help and quick response time, i owe you one!
